some changes will be made!
well some of you guys seen my 2010 genesis coupe. well it was starting to look a little on the "ricer" side and just wasnt doing it for me any more.
so i sold off the carbon fiber hood and the 18 inch tenzo wheels. i upgraded the wheels to the factory 19 inch track/rspec edition wheels. now im going to be picking up a factory hood if i can find someone local so that i can start a nice little custom project for the coupe. if i can pull it off i think ill be the only one with a genesis w/ cowl hood. not going anything major just something nice like the wide cowl hoods they make for the 4th gens below you can see a quick sketch i drew up. http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a1...0-SNC00537.jpg back to a factory look :) http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a1...n/SNC00043.jpg http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a1...n/SNC00046.jpg http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a1...n/SNC00045.jpg cowl hood sketch followed by a pic of the style hood im trying to go for on my coupe http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a1..._2408110_n.jpg http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a1...n/IMG_2917.jpg and my reasoning behind even considering beside the ricer look is i also found this pic of my car basically stock when i had it down in florida last summer and i just loved the sliver wheel look over the black. the black made the wheels look tiny compaired to the stock 19s. anway this is my coupe a year ago but with the stock 18s http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a1..._1532597_n.jpg and before i get the comments about why i spend money on wheels and all to just change them i got them at a great deal since my car got t boned by a c6 vette and had to get rebuilt. thats what 13k worth of damage looked like lol but i do have to say the car drives even better now than when i drove it off the lot. go figure! http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a1...01115-0759.jpg. http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a1...01115-0800.jpg |
I think the term "Rice" is used a little too much. It can vary between what cheap products you put on it i.e. a $200 ebay body kit, or an Autozone 5" exhaust tip, but I think a tastefully modded import is not that hard, in which your case the hood and rims went well with your intentions. I'm not feeling a cowl hood on an import, infact I don't like any cars with a cowl hood that uses fuel injection, even Mustang's or Camaro's. At the very most I would of had the hood painted to match the car instead of leaving it bare, but other then that, you're setup was going well.

I love that car! Would you buy the v6 if you could do it again?

I'm with you on that. If it's necessary that's one thing. If it's a cowl hood for "styling" that's another. I've seen too many bad ones. |
The genesis is a beautiful car stock, cosmetically it doesn't need much. I think you did the right thing. I'd rather have a fast car that looks stock, than a stock car that looks fast.

I like the car back to factory, but if you still want to change the look up why not powdercoat the wheels a gunmetal color
