Tacoma?
I know this is a long shot but winter is coming sooner rather than later, and I'm in need of a dd, I really want a 95 ish tacoma regular cab, but I really just want a small pick up that's a 4x4 if anyone knows anybody or anything a little help goes a long way

Watch for huge frame issues...
|
Wasn't that on the 2004 and older Tacomas?
JW :D |
I had a 95 that hadn't had any issues it ran like a top, but either way just looking for a small pick up to get around in the snow with, I don't really care about rust or anything like that so much, looking to spend under 5k, thanks for the advice though

*All* tacoma frames turn to swiss cheese alarmingly fast. Not just a cosmetic issue, it becomes structural in a big hurry. Be careful if you're buying one, and climb under it to check the important parts.

Thank you kindly, does anyone know where I can find any?
|
just take a hammer to the frame, that is how we checked when I worked for Toyota. not ALL had the problem, but quite a few did. Usually right where the leaf springs connected to the frame in the rear... we could push it through with our hands. usually a normal size hammer and a light tap will tell you how bad it is

^ Correct. Toyota had a bulletin out on this I believe..some were fine.
|
Ok cool thanks I def will do that in my search

I sold a 99 reg cab 5 speed with 12x,xxx miles several years ago for around $5200. The frame was sounding soft and starting to flake apart in layers so I didn't want to risk keeping it since it was too old for the Toyota recall/buy back.
