Parts for a 79 T/A
First off, im still alive.
anyway, got a 79 T/a 6.6 in at works, its the owners car and he wants get fix some little things and on and keep it OEM. After calling 2 dealers in my area, it seems like the things we are looking for are not available from the dealer any more. anyone know any OEM Pontiac parts sites? or know were to look ? LOOKING FOR: Rear Diff Pinion seal Wires and Distributor Rear Bumper fasteners Front swaybar bushings and links Oil Filter + drain plug Fuel Filter thanks guys:bertstare::bertstare::bertstare: |
I am not sure about Rear Bumper fasteners, but I'd guess they are out there. Everything else is easily available. RockAuto or your local parts houses should be able to handle this. drain plug should be easy too if the pan is not damaged.

Is he trying to restore the car to concours standards? If he is just looking to do a tune up aftermarket stuff will cost a lot less and work a lot better than 20+ year old NOS filters and wires. Everything you are looking for is available through RockAuto.
If you need a dizzy I have a Pontiac big cap HEI distributer at home. |
If it was up to me, id have no issue ordering the RockAuto stuff. But he seems to be real set on using ONLY oem stuff.
I have a feeling ill be talking him into the RockAuto stuff by the end of the day... |
most of that stuff is invisible so BFD. I'm sure RA had delco parts for the OF and wires
|
buywise in union nj call them they sell origional gm parts my uncle buys all origional parts for his 76 vette they allso sell ac delco parts
|
Rear Diff Pinion seal - Napa. Not a GM part in the first place. Any GM 10 bolt.
Wires and Distributor - Ames for wires. Why distributor? I recurve them and replace internals if needed. No need to get new, well new GM is really not an option. GM makes modules still D1206. Rear Bumper fasteners - Auveco or likewise supplier Front swaybar bushings and links - MOOG. You'll never know the difference. Oil Filter + drain plug - ACDELCO anywhere that sells ACDelco. Why drain plug? If stripped then you better check that the pan threads are good. Fuel Filter - its in the carb. Should be long type for 79 Qjet. Dosent matter who's box. All the same. I stock the filters and normally have modules as well. |
