$5.00 + For Gas IS HERE!

Just saw a report on FOX 5 nightly News, where they were interviewing people in the Washington, D.C. area. In the background was an Exxon station with $4.99.9 for Regular and $5.10.9 for Premium.:soapbox:
If some stations in that area have the BALLS to get those prices, whats to stop stations in this area from giving it a go.
Easter is this weekend (big Holiday travel) and of course HERE COMES SUMMER!

I know that my travel to car show events will be impacted if that price is anywhere near that, and that the NEON will be the car of choice!:w00t:

welcome to california a few years back. it reached these levels when i used to live there. the sad thing about gas is, they can charge whatever they want...and we'd still pay. c'est la vie

In Canada right now it is over $5/Liter (less than a gallon).

Do you really think it's OK to tell retailers what to price their products at?

I'm going to go to Burger King for lunch and give them **** about selling the Whopper for more that 99 cents as I think it's criminal to charge more.

It is a free market economy. If you don't like it you do not have to pay.

However, I fully understand that people need to be able to buy fuel to earn a living, etc and that the prices of consumer goods will rise as well. Who knows, maybe the government will step in. If not, spread your wallet wide.

Payed $4.80 for Premium in Leguna Beach last weekend here in California, its staying a steady $4.30 on base though.

Frosty 04-21-2011 03:14 PM

I paid $4.20 for premium the other day for the GTA. Pathetic.

LTb1ow 04-21-2011 03:25 PM

Maybe you guys should have bought cars that get good gas mileage and not require premium!!!!!

qwikz28 04-21-2011 05:03 PM

I figure its just easier to cut out some unnecessary trips and go easier on the throttle and my weekly gas allowance has stayed constant. For example, I try a bit more to arrange all my meetings at work for the same day, so I am not running to and from the office 3 or 4 times a week. I now put about 200-220 miles on my car a week, down from about 250. It all adds up.

spina74 04-22-2011 01:13 AM

I honestly don't see any stepping in from the gov, a comment was made by a certain single person regarding gas is that we should trade in our cars for more energy efficient vehicles....won't name names or I might get an infraction. On another note this is a commom occurence for me....last time gas spiked I was about done building my first T/A, now gas is back up and I'm in the midst of building my second one...
