Seriously searching for a body/paint shop

Hi, I put this request in a few months ago and did get one good name.
Unfortunately the shop was way outa my $$$ range. I am looking for a
good ,honest shop to paint my 69 Camaro RS . The car has already had
all the major body work and sheet metal work. I do have a budget of about
$6000 so some of the elite shops will be out of my reach. If any one
knows any small, slow paced shops that likes working on these types of
cars please let me know. I would like to stay within 100 miles of
Cape May. thanks ed

Why dont you do your own research now, about who you most likely will be able to afford, by calling different shops and telling them of what you've got done already and get some rough numbers. That'll give you an idea of who's in your price range.

I have already done that type of thing and I spent alot of time on the phone
and felt I DIDNT ACCOMPLISH MUCH. I had hoped that some of the
guys on this site have been thru this and they may offer some insite
to the shops they already know are good. After all I thought this forum was a place to share info so people didnt make the same mistake twice. ed

Did you try paul @ rpm ---->

He did Scott....unfortunately we're too far apart. I did point him towards Summit Rod and Custom who is a former sponsor....not sure if they're still around or not.

Eddie.....something else that came to me while reading this is to wait a few months and hit all of your local cruise nights. Find the cars with paint that you think look good in your eyes and talk to the owners. Ask who painted them and if they would mind telling you roughly what they paid. Hopefully you'll get the same name or two from multiple guys and that'll point you where to go.

Amazing work, but expensive.

We have a small shop up north if your interested. The main painter/body man from Summit Rods and Customs in Morristown is my parter. He has painter about 3 69 camaros including a baldwin motion clone. We work with the best material around from prime all the way to clear, if your interested in having a full paint and staying in your budget please feel free to pm.
