So I aced my big test

Dont know if i mentioned it or not on here but i have pretty much spent the last few months with my nose buried in study guides in preparation for my NJ Electrical Contractors Exam. I took the test on the 6th and got the results today (70 is passing) - 89, 90, 94. its three parts- electrical, business/law, and fire/alarm systems. most people fail this test the first time or two by the way.

so basically, im now licensed to be an electrical contractor.

Congrats on the passing! Is that going to further help in jobs & pay?

as far as pay goes, its not going to change much, but it opens a whole new world of jobs.
im going to wait until the beginning of next year before i make my final decision on whether or not to persue my own business. i wanted to get it as a back-up since the work situation in our union hall has been so incredibly bad. im not going to be one of these guys that gets laid off and sits around for a year or more.

I wouldn't try to start your own business in this economy. just look around and find a nice high paying gig; city or govt work is always good.
