Painted at last!

I finally got my car painted so im happy. The color is like a dark metallic pearl red
and considering the lighting it will be darker or lighter. It changes colors all day haha

ar0ck 07-23-2008 07:11 PM

Looks good man, just do something about those wheels!

BonzoHansen 07-23-2008 07:15 PM

Nope, never been in that store, I guess they all look the same, lol. 7+ years with them, mostly in Freehold, but spent varying amounts of time in West Orange, Oakhurst, Ocean (now closed), Hazlet, Point Pleasant, Bordentown, Hightstown (the old one on 33), East Windsor, Hamilton, Jackson, Monmouth Junction.

I had to look at their store list online to remember them all.

:werd: otherwise the car looks pretty sharp man

BonzoHansen 07-23-2008 07:24 PM

GTA rims would sharpen it up for low $$. I like 3rd gens

Is that a black 4th gen on the other lift?

Thats my asst. manager/friend's 02 firehawk

Predator86 07-23-2008 07:41 PM

ok so lets tackle this rim issue right now....i got these outlaw IIs at a junkyard 3 years ago so i cant complain but im looking to replace them so im open to all suggestions...

im trying to think of what the gta wheels would look like...also i have 295/50R15s in the rear so i need a rim big enough

79CamaroDiva 07-23-2008 08:04 PM

also get some bumper black on the car, i think it would really make it look nice. the paint looks great!

BonzoHansen 07-23-2008 08:14 PM

GTA rims are 16s....you should be able to do 255/50/16s in the back, with 245/50/16 in the front.

I suggest those as they are relatively inexpensive. Black ones would look good, but you can paint the mesh part any color you'd like. that gray steve painted his jeep wheels would be sweet. clean & prep real well yourself and some rattle can and you're good to go.

sweetbmxrider 07-23-2008 10:06 PM

nice dude. looks alot better than what it was! why red metallic whatever?

ar0ck 07-23-2008 10:20 PM

Even a 16" Formula Turbine wheel would work well with the car. I'm a huge fan of GTA Cross Lace wheels on 3rd gen birds in gold & black which both would work well with that color. Or if you had a little extra coin to spend, a pair of silver painted 17x9 ZR1's would look spectacular.

+1 on the Formula rims. -1 on chevy wheels on a pontiac.

maroman88 07-24-2008 08:17 AM

yea i think the formula rims are way under rated.... i love em!

chrisfrom nj 07-24-2008 09:30 AM

looks great

Stevoone 07-24-2008 06:22 PM

Looks good, where did you have it painted?

I had a lot of compliments on my car when I had Cragar S/S wheels. This is the only pic I could find of it with them on.

I actually got this done at maaco cuz i got connections with head guy at that shop so he took care of me...its not a perfect job but for the price i got im still doing back flips.:-P

I wanted metallic red because the original fire engine red was just tired so i wanted something different...and with the silver flake in the paint, the color will go from orange to dark red all day

i was thinking along the lines of aftermarket as far the wheels go. Im looking at some A.R. rims but i dont know if i wanna go black or chrome...leaning more towards the black

although i do have ugly rear drums which need to be converted to disk so i dont wanna be too too revealing

Not the best pic, but here's a set of (very dirty) WS6 crosslaces on my Camaro.....

- Justin

Predator86 07-27-2008 09:52 AM

im gonna weigh some options cuz money is def a factor right now

SteveR 07-31-2008 08:33 AM

Paint looks good!

For the rims, I'd say black chrome the centers and polish the lips on a set of the WS6 laced rims that Justin posted.
