I'm just going to paste a conversation I had via IM with a friend of mine. Â*It says almost all that needs to be said.

MoPMoonchild: i was heading home, cuz it was nice out and I was going for a drive then I had to order trumpet **** anyway and my mom had the credit card for my to use
MoPMoonchild: i decided to take Clinton all the way down
MoPMoonchild: you know how if you take clinton in bfield towards tenafly, a couple blocks past washington theres liek a big brick house on the right?
LetThisBeMyRage: yeah i tink so
MoPMoonchild: well I was right by there, I saw some girls n the side liek pointing up at something so I glanced up, didnt see anything, looked ahead the car in fron tof me had stopped
MoPMoonchild: i hit my brakes and couldnt stop in time
MoPMoonchild: i was only doing liek 20 mph... but still

LetThisBeMyRage: so how bad did your car get ****ed?
MoPMoonchild: His car, the quarterpanels like right above the tires/behind the rear glass got like.. bent, so from there on back its angled down
LetThisBeMyRage: uh huh
MoPMoonchild: my car... front clip all busted up, hood buckled and ****ed, damage to the front of the engine bay (****s ****ed up from the nose to the intake, but nothing that I could tell on the actual engine... i kwno exactly why ill tell u in a min). Â*now for the possibly worst part... airbags went off.
LetThisBeMyRage: oh ****

MoPMoonchild: the passenger side airbag cover... that bigass pad in the dash... flew up with so much force it made an impression of itself in the windshield, which spiderwebbed to all **** and cracked
MoPMoonchild: and drivers airbag is part of the steering wheel
LetThisBeMyRage: oh snap
MoPMoonchild: also the passenger pad, when that came up, it seperated the near and far sides of my dash
MoPMoonchild: cuz its like 2 panels
MoPMoonchild: if the airbags hadnt gone it wouldnt have been nearly as bad
MoPMoonchild: my dad is thinkign tho, drive it or tow it back to our house, and restore it.
MoPMoonchild: cuz i was saying how its probably totalled
MoPMoonchild: and told him all that
MoPMoonchild: and he says well take a closer look
LetThisBeMyRage: did you get a ticket?
MoPMoonchild: but he was saying well restore it
MoPMoonchild: careless driving
LetThisBeMyRage: so doesnt' that mean your license disappear?
MoPMoonchild: and my insurance card, was prolly in my backseat but i was in such a daze that i couldnt think right and it wasnt in my glove compartment so i assumed i left it at home from when i called the insurance company when i got hit saturday
MoPMoonchild: so i got a ticket for that too, even tho my dad brought over the insurance documents and all our plans details and ****
MoPMoonchild: and yes I have to check to see how long
MoPMoonchild: but i think im going to tell my parents to drop me from the insurance
MoPMoonchild: well i told them theyre just like "we'll see"
MoPMoonchild: im actually surprised at how supportive theyre being

MoPMoonchild: and also, his driver side door wouldnt open for some reason

MoPMoonchild: and he got out the passenger side
MoPMoonchild: no get this
MoPMoonchild: first off he was walking around normal, then the cops came and he was saying his neck hurt so the took him to the hospital... besides that the first thing he says "will this make my insurance go up?"

MoPMoonchild: i went over to him to ask if hes ok he was just liek "why did you do that" and so i told him what happend, completely honestly liek i just told you
MoPMoonchild: and he sees my car ****ED UP doesnt ask if im ok or anything
MoPMoonchild: he was around my dads age
MoPMoonchild: give or take 5-10 yrs

MoPMoonchild: I think either he was gonan make a left or the guy in front of him was

MoPMoonchild: but the reason my engine bay got ****ed, was cuz the hood latch attached to a bar that goes across there
MoPMoonchild: his bumper I guess ****ed up my hood, and the hood pulled that back
MoPMoonchild: and did i tell u abotu my keys?
LetThisBeMyRage: no
MoPMoonchild: they were int he car when the tow truck guy put the car up, then I went int he ambulance to the hospital (just in case)
MoPMoonchild: so I had my dad go to where the towed it (forgot the name but its n chursh street, by 7-11), and they were closed, and my dad asked first to see if the guy put my t-tops on and windows up he said he did
MoPMoonchild: and second he asked for my keys... my dad told me "the guy said they werent there or the guy took them home with him or something" and to go back tomorrow after theyre open to get the keys
MoPMoonchild: so tomorrow im gonna get those if i get a ride, it was my car home and work keys
MoPMoonchild: i mean
MoPMoonchild: car home and dorm

MoPMoonchild: and yea when my license is suspended im gonan ahve to quit
MoPMoonchild: esp if i have my parents take me off insurance
MoPMoonchild: but also hm what else
MoPMoonchild: oh i told my dadabout all the damage... and what the fixings that I know of entail... and so I was saying its totalled and done... but he said "We'll see" and wants to restore it instead

LetThisBeMyRage: i don't remember what you had coverage wise

That's basically it... I'm still in shock. Â*Massive shock. Â*All I have out of this is a sore neck so that's good... but still in shock. Â*i dont even know...... pics will come tomorrow or something.

ahhhhh ****....you definitely have bad luck with this car. it's cursed or something. get rid of it. buy a new car.

easier said than done dude, i got almost no ****ing money and now I'm gonna have to try to find another job or something. im thinking definately no summer sessions cuz i wont have a way to get there... maybe just doing landscaping this summer gettin picked up in the AM, doing that every day

you're gonna spend just as much money getting the thing fixed as you would buying a new car. buy a TPI Z28/Trans Am and start anew.

and i DO NOT HAVE THE MONEY for insurance for that You were tryin to sell your v6 for how long cuz insurance was too much?? I barely afford it as it is, no way I can get an 8.

i also had full coverage on the Camaro. liability on a TPI car would be lower than full coverage.

Damn man, that really ****in sucks. Glad to see you are ok. Its been said before, but it always holds true. Its easier to replace a car then a life.

damn dude thats almost like what happened to me, i wanted to tow it to my dads house so when i graduate from uti 13 months after august i could jus slowly restore it but they were saying it would cost $350, which i dont have rite now so i had to say good by and scrap it:'(.srry to hear this and glad u r safe.at first my head jus hurt then it spread to neck bak and arm and 5 days later i dont feel a thing for the first time:) best of luck.

i had the same **** happen to me...got rear ended then 4 days later some dick runs a stop sign and i smashed into him totalling my car.

damn kasey...first me then u...its the 97 camaro curse i tell ya..anyways, gld to see u weren't seriously injured...u'll figure out somethingman, don't worry too much about...

Or, he could get a cheap beater since he now has another ticket so his insurance will go even higher. TPI F-Body = not a good choice in his situation.

At least your ok man. Same thing happened to me. I was lucky that I knew the cop. He told me he would "write me the ticket" but i know he would never report it, and he never did. The guy I hit was an ******* so I told him "Maybe you should stand by your car and wait for the officer.... and stop hovering mine" cuz all he did was bitch and complain."

If I was in this situation, I would hold on to the car. On your spare time, just work on getting the things that can be easily fixed to A-1 shape. On the side, try to find cheap used parts to fix it. This way, if you get rid of it, you can sell it and get some money back, but thats just me.

sorry to hear that kasey, glad you're ok though. Depending on how bad the car is, it may be better to just part it out. You have the relatively new exhaust and hi-flo cat and you just put in the 3.42 rear. But if your dad will let you keep it and eventually restore it..go with an LT1 :D Cheer up man, everything will work itself out

how bad is the engine bay, fenders and all that? you can get a set of fenders used for probably around 100-150, used bumper, support for around 150-200.... airbags and dash are a little harder, windsheild is a little expensive.... where do you live? i have alota connections with alota junk yards so if you need help lookin for parts just hit me up but im in South Jersey so youd have to pick em up if your far

Fenders untouched. Engine bay has some damage due to the hood being pushed back and pullng the latch with it, but its alll in front of the engine, and front clips screwy. WIll get pics tomorrow I think - had it towed to my house today.
