ok smack me but whats an opti

The OptiSpark is pretty much the "distributor" for a LT1 engine. They are our cars worst enemy. They arent as bad as people make them out to be when replacing them, but they are a PITA.

how bad and how much would it be to replace and if so what kind should i get if their are diff ones???

Well if you have the skills, then its not that bad, just time consuming. I picked up a GM replacement for 250 brand new. You could go with the rebuild kit or whatever it is, dont know how much it is, or if its even worth it. You will take off the Elbow, air intake, Water pump, fans, and a few other things off the front of the engine. If you need help let me know, and where youre located. It could be possible to work something out if you needed help.

NEVER replace just the cap and rotor portion of the opti. It's not worth it, especially considering the problem may not even lie in those pieces. It could be an optical sensor failure.

Replacing the opti is fairly easy.

Drain the radiator.
Remove the intake ducting, radiator fans, crank pulley, water pump, then opti. Once you have some experience you can have an opti out of the car in about an hour.

I believe the cheapest going rate for a new GM opti is from Jason Cromer at Sam Taylor Buick Cadillac. 877-726-8295 The 92-94 non-vented units goes for about $260-270 now.
