NO AUTO for the Solstice

GM kicks ass!!! I don't see an option for an auto on Pontiac's website. If they don't offer an auto, GM officially kicks ass!

I wouldnt go that far. Not offering an auto in America is sure death for any car. CTS-V is feeling the effects. I wouldnt be surprised if the 6L80E, or the 5L40E finds its way into the Solstice with the Corvettes new tap shift buttons.

as much as i think it's a bold move, it probably is a stupid one on that car, because a cheap, small convertible will appeal to a very wide audience, many of whom probably don't want to deal with a stick car. I think every car from gm should have a choice, manual or auto. manual only or auto only on most any vehicle is a dumb move because you're limiting target audience.

Yea, I'm sure an auto option will be there by the time the car goes on sale, or shortly afterwards.

big deal if there is no auto. i think there are enough stick drivers out there to make a small splash with the vehicle this year. then everyone who didn't learn to drive stick can buy one next year.

it's almost an elite group - those that like the solstice and drive stick. not everyone who likes one will buy one, either, so that pares the numbers down even more. i like it. not an admittedly smart business move for a company posting record losses, though. ;)

What is really cool is that GM does offer a stripper Solstice that starts under 20k. No AC, and manual everything. There is also major plans from GMPD to make tuneable suspension as an option. There will also be a Corsa exhaust as an option.
