et streets or hoosier quick time pro

what size et streets or hoosier quick time pro slicks can fit on my 84 t/a and on what size pro star rims (15x10?) with what backspacing... do i need wheel spacers to run on the front if i get the 15x3.5 front rims

Tru2Chevy 06-03-2005 09:09 AM

A 26x9.5x15 would fit fine on a 15x8 wheel, and would be enough tire to go as fast as you want to go.

I run a 27x10.5 Hoosier QTP on a 15x8 rim with 5.5" backspacing. Doesn't rub anything and doesn't stick out past the fender. Most 10" wide rims I see on thirdgens look silly cause they stick out too far. My 15x3.5s didnt need any spacers either. Could most liikely fit an 11.5" wide tire with the same results.

I know people who run them both ways....

I don't run tubes and they don't leak out air or spin on the rim. I don't know if they changed them over the years but my wheel studs were 12mm x 1.5. I swapped them out for 3" long ones just to be safe.

all about teh QTP's. i had them adn loved them. never used tubes and they didn't leak until they were several years old.

to 84HOtransam, how fast is your car, what gears are in the rear, because Slow-Z has the right set up, but i would use a 10" rim with 5.5"bs.they tuck even with the fender lip.

well right now its a 305..with an ls1 in the works..the rear...ford 9inch with 430 gears... with 373's the car ran a 14.5 @ 96

i blew the 10 bolt so im working from the bottom up..

jrsfast84 06-04-2005 06:05 AM

i would use a 15 x 10 -5.5bs, a 28 x 10.5 Mickey Thompson Sportsman Pro #6546, they worked great on my best friends 82' T/A, 305, with a 150 shot of nitrous, 11.78 with th350, 3500 stall, stock rear w/4.10's,at 3320lbs. he drove the car on the street, hope this helps you.

Slow Z 06-04-2005 11:05 AM

I doubt you'll be able to run a 28" tall tire without beating the crap outta your wheel wells. I had 28x10.5" ET Drags and they rubbed like a somamabitch on the front portion of the wheelwell (behind the door).

Contemporary Corvette in Bristol, PA - they sell on Ebay as fparts, but you can also call them and see what they have in stock. I know someone who bought an LS1/T56 from a '99 SS with 11k miles for only $4500. Came with ECM, full engine harness, and the pedal setup too.
