i did somethin real stupid today

ok so, i was a at a stop sign turnin onto a street, now everyone knows about "gettin the car sideways" neways i did that and make a long story short lost control of the car got ner vous and kep my foot on the cas and turned the whole car sideways and smacked a curb....craxked my front rim, and my back rim i hope jus got bent in. right now when u look at it it loks like its pussed farther in the wheel well then the other one and my friend said when i was driving it was wabbling..... now i hope my rear end is ok an its just a bent rim.... i can deal with havin to egt new rims , but im not sure of the total damage i did... and im pretty upset

skorpion317 06-09-2005 11:13 PM

how did you lose control?

BlueFBird 06-10-2005 12:00 AM

when i spun out the car i tottaly lost my thinkin and i didnt remove my foot from the gas a the right time cause i paniced and didnt kno wut to do so it spun the car completly around....i just hope i wont need a whole rear end i dunno how much that will be. and i am glad that im ok an everything but it was my own stupidy. i was kinda shaken up in the beggining but now i gota stare at the car until i can find out what the problem is... thanks for all ur concerns, good to kno u got a great bunch of people here that care..

very lucky you didnt hit another car. My friend did the same thing a year or so ago with his monte carlo, but he hit a camaro. Some gravel at an intersection and a buncha power dont make a good combination.. this is what the monte looked like afterwards

lucky for him his dads got a body shop, and after being so pissed at him for wrecking the car, after a month or so they started fixing it, pulled the frame straight, and got the car all better. Then someone hit him while he was parked at home.

BlueFBird 06-10-2005 12:49 AM

thanks guys i serisouly cant belive im still here after that....someone was sewrisouly watchin over me caus ei spun out in the other lane then did a complete 180 and hit the cub flush on the driverside at like 40 mph. with no seatblet an the windows open, my back is a lil screwed up but ill be fine. i can always fix the car but i thank god im here.

Jersey_TA 06-10-2005 12:53 AM

It's probably something to do with the spindle. Check the rack and pinion for bends or cracks.

"With great power comes great responsibility."

Glad you, and everyone else on the road at the time, is ok. Save the stunts for empty lots, and the racing for the track.

And wear your seat belt.

BlueFBird 06-10-2005 11:23 AM

ya i learned my lesson, u can believe that i wont be doin nething stupid ever again on the road.. and my seatbelt will be on everytime... but its still a bummer bout the car i gota take it and get it checkout out and see how much money ill have to play.

kamikaz 06-10-2005 11:38 AM

today iw ent out in the garage, jacked up the car tok the wheel off of the opposite side on the fron i hit and put it in the reat where i hit the back rim and bent it i think, well i got it on put it down and the wheel on the side i didnt hit in the rear is stickin out soo much further then the side i hit, i have no idea wut im gona need to get done :(

karr95 06-10-2005 01:49 PM

So the rear wheel is sticking out too far on one side?

You might have bent the **** out of the lower control arms and possibly the panhard bar. If you can, take the car to Meinike in Brick, those guys are pretty good at finding out what the problem is. If all that stuff is bent, looks like its time to shop for parts on www.spohn.net.

BlueFBird 06-10-2005 02:14 PM

im hopin its not gona be alot, but ya its deff stickin out like a good 2 inches on the oppsite side of the collision

Koll 06-10-2005 02:20 PM

Perhaps it was the lack of totally comprehendable paragraphs.

I hope not either, this stuff can get real expensive, real quick. If you need a set of wheels to hold you over, my friend Dave has a set of salad shooters with good tires in his basement for $100 if your interested.

BlueFBird 06-10-2005 02:29 PM

ya ill prob consider that when i got things worked out, the things im sure of that ill need are new rims, new tips on the car i dented them to ****, my front end got wacked out of aligment so im gona need that done. prob a new tire, so its already gettin expensive without the rear problem solved

BlueFBird 06-11-2005 11:32 PM

wut u guys think if i pused the whole rear like 3 inches over?

JPiZZiJP 06-12-2005 04:57 AM

It sounds like the control arms... when I had my 95 Firebird, there was oil on an off ramp and my front left tire slid right into a curb. The rim cracked, and the whole left tire was pushed in against the rear of the well. $1100 or so to fix.

BlueFBird 06-12-2005 11:27 AM

geez im hopin its not that much to get the rear an everythin fixed or it will be off the road for a while

deadtrend1 06-12-2005 11:58 AM

when i bought my 96, the previous owner did the same thing i suspect. The left rear rim was cracked, and the rear end made a griding noise. The LCA's werent bent, just seemed like he screwed up the rear and axels.

I went to contempory corvette in Bristol and got a new rear assembly and rim for a cheap price.

BlueFBird 06-12-2005 03:29 PM

am i jus better off bringin it to a body shop

BlueFBird 06-12-2005 06:07 PM

it wouldnt be possible for me to bend the frame would it?

Those are the same bastards who sent me a rear with TCS when I specifically said no TCS...

Sucks to hear man, make sure you ask around here when you find out whats wrong, and maybe someone will have stuff lying around u can use
