Chevy S10 Question

I recently picked up a 1995 Chevy S-10. The problem I am having is the tranny, it is definatly on its way out and needs to either be replaced or rebuilt. However, will an f-body transmission work in there? It is a 4L60E in there, I wonder if either the V6 or V8 Trans has the same bellhousing and would work for this application.

Thanks

im sure foff will know....

but......details, what motor do you have, 2x4 or 4x4 etc......

yah i think it would depend on if its a 4x4 or 4x2 but the bolt patterns should be the same from most fbody applications except ls1's.

Its a 2wd model. Thats why I was thinking it might work.

pretty sure its the same bellhousing unless in the mid90's they put something other than the 4.3 motor in there...
