The Most repeated Question in the world!

Can a TPI system from a 305 TPI car, carry over to a 400 SBC?

Yes, but it would not make any power over 3500 RPM :D

If you had the intake fully ported and slapped on big runners, then you could prolly nudge that up to 4000 or 4200.....

Seriously though....the stock TPI intakes won't move enough air to feed a healthy 400. Now if you were going to an aftermarket style intake, or you were planning on "pressurizing" that factory intake, then all would be well ;)

It'll bolt up if that's what you wanted to know. Like Justin said, it won't make much if any more peak power than what air can get through the stock TPI. In other words, 240hp worth of air at 4500rpm with a 305 = 240hp worth of air at 3500rpm with a 400. Everything needs to be proportionally sized if you want to make more power. If not, it's just shifting the power to a lower RPM... good for trucks and heavy vehicles with piss poor gearing.

I'd like to see what kind of torque it would make though.

I'm sure it would be disgustingly high around 2500-3000.
