Questions for anyone knowledgable in auto trannys

I took my truck to the dealer today to have two problems diagnosed. First was that it's been down on power for months now. I spent hours and hours trying to figure it out.....replaced the whole fuel system and most of the ignition system with no luck.

Second is that my trans was shifting hard and leaking bad. I just replaced the tcc apply valves in it because I had thrown a slippage code about a month ago and this is a common fault in the 4L60E trans. I haven't thrown another slippage code but it was still shifting hard.

The dealer called me this morning and told me that the front pump is bad and I need a new pump, cover and harness. Does anyone know what cover they are talking about and why I would have to replace the harness?
Also could this be causing my powerloss problem?

Found out it's the cover between the torque converter and the pump.

Should I just change the converter while I have it all out?

Sure, why not. What were you planning on replacing it with?
