need a shop to rebuild a 427BB

This is actually for my friend Matt. We took the 427 BB out of his 68 vette and he wants to know of a reliable performance shop that does really good rebuilds. He's picky as hell and i don't blame him. He wants it decked out so it becomes a mean mother****er. Its not mandatory that it needs to be done now. He just wants to know of a shop so when the time(and money) comes he can get it done. The car is going through a complete resto so it might be a while. Im just asking because we were moving **** for the vette from a my friends garage to his house so he can get to work on it there and we were talking about the plans today.
It's a 68' Vette 427 BB, 3sp auto and i don't know the rear ratio
Im pretty sure he wants to replace the 3sp with a 4 or 5 speed manual so the tranny isn't an issue. All we did to the engine was take the valve covers off and check how everything was in there and it seemed fine. We never got around to actually taking the intake manifold or the heads off so i don't know how she looks beyond that. I KNOW that it did not run. And with the rear....all i know that right now its on there so we can move the car around.
Anybody that can give me shop info that they know of it would be much appreciated. Thanks!

im pretty sure this kid wants this motor to crack out some #'s he wanted to sell it and go with a 454 but now he figures hes got it and it was in the car.... why not use it

If that's the original engine for the car and the partial VIN is still on the front pad, then make sure he tells the shop not to deck those numbers off the front pad. If it's not the original engine, tell him to check for the numbers and post them up, the engine could be worth a lot of money to whoever's car it belongs.
