350 oil pan
I'm building up my 350 first gen block engine and have to replace the oil pan. Right now my oil pan is 7'' depth, rear sump, wet sump, 4 quarts - stock with stock oil pump. Since ih ave to replace it because its a little deformed i'm looking into the milodon (30400) 6 quart 8.25'' pan depth, rear sump with windage tray. i'm concerned about ground clearance and if i would need to upgrade my oil pump or just the pick up. Has anyone done something like this? Thanks for any advice/thoughts/ideas.

if i were you, for a 68, ground clearance should be fine. you do need to get a pickup, and since your running a 6 quart pan it would be cool to upgrade to an M55HV pump (melling High volume) that setup would work really well since you have the extra oil. sometimes high volume pumpes can suck the pan dry at high rpms with a stock pan. a Mr. Gasket #26 pressure spring will bring your oil psi to around 60, which is great. its a good setup.
