posi?, what was it originally out of?..modified from a g or b body..or is it a factory 70 fbody 12bolt?

bitchincamaro 09-22-2005 08:59 PM

i am pretty sure its from a 70, i bought it from a guy intending on putting it in my car but changed my mind, i have had it for while, but when i bought it, i checked the mearements compared to my 10 bolt and it came out right, and it doesnt look like the spring perches have ever been touched, looks like its been sitting the guys basement i bought it from for years. if you have some numbers you want me to check let me know (like backing plate to backing plate, etc). i also have a posi 10 bolt i will be getting rid of soon too.

the 10 bolt is still in the car, i didnt really mean to post it yet, supposedly 3.08 posi in that one too. this rear is my parts car, the kid i bought it from said he just put it in there a few months before he took it off the road, i didnt even check the rear i bought the car for the body parts, could care less what rear was in it. like i said i have to swap it out before i can think about selling it. sorry i'll look into it for you though, that car is getting stripped this weekend.
