Stupid AIR check valves
I was taking the AIR tubes and check valves off the exhaust manifolds to transfer them to the headers and one of them is bad. My old 93 had a bad AIR check valve as well. I can't believe they require these as emissions equipment and they always go bad allowing the exhaust to get back into the smog system. It caused condensation to build up on my 93 and that filled the AIR pump with water and it froze solid in the winter causing it to blow a fuse. It's a cheap part but amazing how often they go bad.

So there you have it, the "car gods" have spoken!

But then I wouldn't be smog legal and I'd be no better than the rest of you guys! :nono:

but look how much easier they are to change then on the 93! The 93 pass. side is a MAJOR PITA!!!!

Yeah, I remember how much fun that one was to change since that was the one that went bad. But it's even easier when they're like this.
