Noisy power steering pump?
 

Does anyone else have a noisy power steering pump now that the cold weather has set in?

the one in my gtp has always been noisy...my fbodies never were though.

yeah mine gets that way a bit, even with full fluid it just gets whiny in the winter.

mine did that and it turned out i had no fluid in there. i mean 0 fluid. check your levels before your pump goes

The one in my Lumina is a bit noisey, even if the fluid is full. Something about the cold I guess.

Fluid level is fine. It only does it in the cold. Did it last year too. Weird isn't it?

classic ford crap is always wining VERY LOUD, my fbodies had nothing

Mine did it in the winter. It's common amongst GM pumps. My friend has the same thing in his GTP and my dads lumina also wined. My friend with the GTP talked to someone about it and he was the one who said its common.

Ive never heard problems with GM pumps. Like the saying goes "You know your a mustang owner when you can hear your power steering pump over your E303 cam & 3" flowmaster exhaust."

i think its supposed to be clear if im not mistaken...

uhhhhh.... hmm... well I checked it last night and it was dark otu and I had a flashlight, but I thought it looked brown... that bad?

wouldnt hurt to change it a bottle of prestone is like 2bucks at advance.

Well today i checked and it was somewherre between clear and orange... just picked up a bottle of STP fluid since it's low, gonna go top it off

Just checked my p/s resevoir....... it's EMPTY!!!!!!!! ;)

No wonder you had a hard time pulling into the p-lot at Jose Tejas!! :rofl:
