wierd idle

ok well i finally had time to do a little work on the 88 camaro, charged the battery and put some gas in her and she started up, let it warm up and then took it for a quick spin around the block. when i got back the idle started acting up and rasied from the 1k rpm it was normaly at to about 1250 and stayed there for a few minutes then started going up and down between those points. now the fans arent hooked up yet but its not over heating at time the idle goes nuts. once again i am still workin on the tbi to tpi swap and everything in the tpi has been converted to 305 spec from 350 spec except the injectors (have them just not the time)

could it be a bad idle sensor IAC? but why only after it gets warmed up?
