ummm.. is there a hot thread somewhere on the board? i have no idea

i posted that at 3:46 AM...by 3;50 AM it was back down to 2 members and 5 guests. so i dunno... strange.

Could be SpiderBots gathering words on the site. :shrug:

lol! It happened on another forum I visit to but just not as much guests.

it is spiders and hunting. throughout the day we see 10-20 bots and spiders normally. must have gotten a surge of them last night.
if you watch the users online the number of guests will jump around. normally we do have 2-10 actual human guests at any given time, when it jumps way up it is a program though.

damn robots

having a lot of bots visitng is a good thing. that means we are getting listed higher and higher on different search engines.

i figured it was something like that, i was just so weird because i happened to be on the boards right then and for some reason I looked down and i was like WTF!?. and everytime i refreshed the page, the numbers would drop down, until there were like 4 guests left.

anyways, can that number be reset so its a little more realistic?, not a big deal, but just a thought.

Dont think that would be possible, because SpiderBots act just like a normal "guest" browsing the forum. What it does is collect words/phrases/anything to place onto Search engines, hence why you could prolly type in a topic name from the lounge about 2 weeks ago in Google and you will see it. Its just not "GoogleBots", but its Lycos, Yahoo, Google, search123, excite, etc. etc.

Yup, spiders roam the boards very often, not sure why there was such a surge last night though.
