Trans took a dump...again

Well I went to move my car out of the garage to put it in the sun for some mor pics and then I put it in reverse and suddenly new something was wrong :-x Instead of my trans brakeing in park this time it broke in reverse wich sucks cause my ebrake doesnt work, so I turned the wheel to the left and it stopped turned the car off and ran like hell for some blocks to put under the tires:???: The good news is I have a waranty on the work what they did when it happened the first time! But I was wondering if a aftermarket shifter like a dualgate would fix the problem of getting stuck in one gear or not?

Is your linkage correctly adjusted? Also, what do you mean by braking?

Its stuck in reverse when you shift into park or any other its so easy to do it, sorta like there is no presure in the shifter when its in park it rolls backwards and if its on it will actually go back ward if your on the gas or your its idleing. in drive all it does is go backwards IN ANY GEAR IT WILL GO BACK WARDS.. Im thinking that when It was in the shop for this they hustled us and rebuilt the trans when it really dint need to be because now it happened again.

Actually, I thought I blew my trans in my 86 TA. I put it in reverse and it wouldnt go into any other gear... it was stuck. I was swearing and cussing... turns out it was just the shifter knob lol.

Sounds more like a shifter/linkage problem to me....

FIXED!! Me and my freind took a look under the car the second we got off the bus, the cable keeps coming offf because of the stupid plastic peice used to hold the linkage in place.

If you're going to buy a new shifter, i recommend the Turbo Action Cheetah. Its in my opinion the best shifter on the market. Comes with a Morse cable.

If you have a 3 speed automatic it'll work, wont work on an overdrive trans.
