longtube headers on a 3rd gen camaro

i was told i would have almost no ground clearance? anyone out there with longtubes on a DD let me know if this is true or not ? and would it be worth switchin from hedmann shorty to long tubes

haha man come over and look at my car and you will be able to tell:p

All depends on the stance of the car and which LTs you get.

I have Hooker LT's with stock ride height and I've NEVER scrapped them on anything. I drive my car a lot too... speed bumps, potholes, driveways. Nothing scrapes them. I do however scrape the Y-pipe where it runs under the trans crossmember occasionally but nothing bad.

16x8 tires on front and back right now, stock stance on a 88 iroc, but was thinking going 17x9 on the back, with hooker long tubes

IIRC they dont make LTs for 3rd gens. Everything is 5/8. but 3/4 is needed (atleast on mine)

BobonaStick 01-12-2006 06:37 AM

I also had a set of Hooker LT's on my 88 Iroc... The front was lowered 2 1/2" still never scraped... except for the front lip... (expected)

wrong...

Hedman LT's = 1 5/8" with 3" collector
Hooker LT's = 1 3/4" with 3" collector

:stupid: After my tires, they come next.

Yeah I was wrong. But they are $649.00

Teds89IROC 01-14-2006 04:43 PM

For the coated..regular are $409.99 in jegs..and thats for super comps. Worth it in my opinion, they're one of the best headers.

i have a set of painted long tubes, drivers side needs some attention, but pass is nice, $40 for the pair, lol

icarus402001 01-27-2006 08:14 PM

Smokin SS- How much attention does it need and what brand are they?

V 01-27-2006 08:18 PM

i dont know brand, but the drivers side was heated with a torch and bent to clear the clutch slave cylinder on my monte, i ended up going back to shorty headers. and i think one of the tubes were banged in a little for clearence. no rust holes or anything. ill get a pic this weekend.
