oh one ls1 SS 01-09-2006 04:15 AM

exhaust ?

does anyone know what size the midpipe (its the part inbetween the Y pipe and the muffler..not sure if thats the "technical" name) on a stock 00 Z is?
thanks

I think it's 2.75" id on the 96 and I'd think the 00 is the same. The real restriction is the end of the y-pipe which necks down to 2.5" id and the I-pipe clamps onto that!

Would you suggest getting a 2.5 or 3"......since I cannot find a 2.75 inch cutout

NJSPEEDER 01-09-2006 07:40 PM

go 3". it will fit onto the existing pipe much easier.

Dynomax sells a 3" intermediate pipe(2 pieces I think) but you would probably be better off getting a 3" cat-back and having the cutout put into it.

2.75"
