is the car close enough to get a pic of the RPO label from under the center console lid?

If you go to the carfax main page and enter that VIN it tells you it has 4 recods I believe. Those are probably the initial title and registration and then maybe whoever got it from the police. So I doubt there is any worthwhile information other that mileage updates.

maroman88 01-17-2006 01:39 PM

yea i did that on there main page, i also figured with only 4 reports there was most likely nothing interesting

I ran a Carfax on my 96 SS before I bought it and it came back with those registration and title changes, when the car was in for service, etc. But it never came back with anything showing the car had a quarter panel replaced and was partially repainted or that the transmission had be swapped out. So Carfax is pretty much limited to what is formally reported.

yup...if its never reported to the dmv or an insurance company then it has no way of gettin in the system

if it was a police vehicle it will show fleet service registration though. My sts was a corporate vehicle for some pharmasuctical companys VP, and that showed on carfax.
