Limewire= t3h sux0r!!1

Ok, i dont know what it is, but I try to dl several songs, and they come up as a corupt files? Its not that its one...its EVERY file of a petecular song. WTF? Ill click one do DL, and it will dl, but Ill go to play it, and no music? then right as its gunna finish dl'ing, Limewire comes up with a warning that says "This File is Corrupt, would you like to continue?"

slasherbarb 01-30-2006 10:07 AM

i get that too sometimes with limewire...thats why i use bearshare a lot more...it downloads a little faster and i have yet to encounter a "corrupt" file (knocks on wood)...

95firebirdconvertible 01-30-2006 10:43 AM

That happens to me sometimes too. I dunno, try shutting Limewire down and start it back up again and try.

BigAls87Z28 01-30-2006 11:10 AM

last time I did that, I went to search for the song, and all of them were gone?

Ian 01-30-2006 12:18 PM

Al if you have the free version of limewire, use it to download the "pro" version that you would normally have to pay for. it seems to work a lot better than the free version.

Tru2Chevy 01-30-2006 12:19 PM

Bah....Mainstream P2P has always sucked. Try Direct Connect :)

Haha yeah figured. I was thinking about it, but I was gunna wait till we redid teh house for cable. My dad and I are plotting a way to have a wireless house. Only problem with that is that my house is a black hole.

Tru2Chevy 01-30-2006 12:37 PM

Wireless is pretty east to setup. When you guys decide to do it, let me know, I'll lend a hand if you wish...

Will do Justin, will do. I know 2 of my friends that have set up there houses. For whatever reason, reception in my house, be it telephone, cell, whatever, sucks. I sometimes think my house is possessed.

I hate lime wire! imesh was awsome but doesnt work on my new computer...

GP99GT 01-30-2006 04:42 PM

i have limewire pro....it seems i only get corrupt files if i try downloading like 10 copies of a song (but all different files, to get the one that sounds best)

if you need Pro...you know where to get it

enRo 01-30-2006 04:45 PM

Rob WS6 01-30-2006 06:16 PM

What version of LimeWire are you using? Im running 4.8.1 (older) and I havent had one bad song out of hundreds!

Ian 01-30-2006 06:53 PM

I have limewire PRO 4.9.23 8)

Brando56894 02-01-2006 04:37 PM

bah they all suck, anymore i just use bit torrent (through azureus) once i get some money im gonna use mp3search.ru that one of the guys on here tuned me into. its around $1.20 for a full album compressed at 320kbs (or whatever it is) and they have damn near everything you want

coldkilla 02-01-2006 06:27 PM

the reason yer encountering so many corrupt files is because you are now finding out exactly what the record industry is doing to prevent illegal dl's. no matter what service you use, in due time they will all have corrupt files for most "new" or popular songs. i read in newsweek awhile ago that the record companies actually pay a lot of people to put corrupt or fake music files out on the systems and flood them out so people get tired of trying and give up. its worked on me, i dont bother with popular songs anymore, i wait a few months then i can usually get them no prob.

Brando56894 02-01-2006 08:22 PM

mp3search.ru is completely legal, the RIAA cant do **** about it! technically youre still paying for it

jbird99 02-01-2006 09:40 PM

i downloaded limewire purposely so i could download limewire pro right after....i never have any problems with songs

jims69camaro 02-03-2006 08:02 PM

w i n M X is where it's at. i don't have to babysit it like DC or BT or bearshare, imesh, or limewire. they already shut down the main site for w i n M X and 7 days later we were back up and running again. now, that's persistence. the bogus files are easier to spot with w i n M X before you start downloading, too. some people will never come around. better for us that have, i think. lots fewer users asking "how do i...?"
