A little debate

I decided to move this over from the blonde joke thread to make things a little easier.

NJ Speeder & onefast383 - I got slammed on smallblockposse cause of one person, Steve (itstock). If you REALLY think my car is a trailer queen, just ask Joe (camaroracer). The only reason there are no time slips yet is cause I didn't:
#1 have the time to get to the track last year
#2 didn't have the right brakes on it so the car would stop at the end of the 1/4

If you really think my car can't hang, again, ask Joe. Took him and some others for a ride. Also, I never claimed to have the fastest car out here, although, I will tell you that my car will hang with Jeff's in the 1/4. As for me having the balls to run my car, after the wilwood's are on, the chassis gets certified, the net and chute go on, we'll see who actually has balls enough to run with me.

And all of this coming from one guy who's best is an 11.65(onefast383) and another who doesn't even have HIS time posted (njspeeder).

Now put that in your pipe and smoke it:omg:

lol, now that is funny as hell. you should have stuck with the no time to get there excuse, at least that is realistic.
if your brakes suck too much to stop the car in a 1/2mile shut down area i don't see how you could drive it around on the street as you claim.

i haven't run this car yet, that is why i don't have a time posted up. i will be hitting the track in april when it has insurance on it again.

taking a friend for a ride and having the butt dyno test is useless. if you actually know anything about cars you know that it always feels faster from the passenger seat and that the street isn't the same as the track.
anyone can claim a big power number and anyone can have friends to say their car is fast.
you said you have enough to handle everyone here, we are all waiting for some proof beyond your friends saying your car is fast or your HP claims to back it up.
i will be happy to line up with you if it will get you to the track.

WayFast84 02-03-2006 04:23 PM

I guess you should trailer it over to ttp for dyno day...not taking sides..

bitchincamaro 02-03-2006 04:33 PM

i thought you posted on delval that your car went high tens? my car stops fine from 135 mph with stock brakes.

It's more of a safety factor. The brakes work fine for the street, but you tell me if you think stock 1 gen manual brakes and rear drums brakes can really be effective in stopping a car at 130+ mph:scratch:

Again, you have the same thing I have. I will actually be doing a track rental at Atco to run mine this spring. We'll line up then.

As for your "butt dyno" remarks...yes, I do know it "feels" faster in the pass. seat, but when I car is faster than most and that person in the passenger seat has a great deal of knowledge regarding racing, then that person can make fairly accurate assumptions. As for my HP claims, dyno proven, enough said on this on. I only see a total of 5 cars going quicker than 10.99, enough said about who I've got covered.

Realize, it is the internet. If you remember also on delval, I did post up the 2nd dyno pull on the motor. high tens, don't think so, that was done only in smack talk and that was months ago.

As for the brakes, 78-79 camaro right?? Much better design than 1969. Also, about 3400 lbs, 31x18.5 tires, manual brakes, etc. = not the best stopping power

bitchincamaro 02-03-2006 04:40 PM

"Hey bitchin, look like you've got 3 & 4 covered.

Hey Joe, what do YOU think about his 1 & 2 comments???

My thoughts..............I DON'T THINK SO!!!!!!!!!"

1 & 2 covered.

blown69rat 02-03-2006 04:46 PM

You think so?? With a best of 10.022?? Hope you stepped it up over the winter!!

WayFast84 02-03-2006 04:47 PM

I have now taken sides.....

blown69rat 02-03-2006 04:50 PM

wayfast, keep in mind...you are corect with nitrous, you can usually step it up if the motor is built for it, BUT, change some pulleys on a blower motor, and it too is stepped up!!

WayFast84 02-03-2006 04:56 PM

Maybe a run at the nats would settle this...o wait your car isnt an fbody....

bitchincamaro 02-03-2006 05:09 PM

i'll i can say is we'll have to wait and see. i know what my car has already done, not what it will do. you said you got 2 of the 10.99 and faster cars covered, i also have 2. i'll probably be up at pocono we can get a freindly race in then.

you could probably actually switch a pulley quicker then i can change the jets in my system.

NJSPEEDER 02-03-2006 05:13 PM

i can't do a track rental during the week because of work.
i will be happy to meet up with you on an open test and tune or street day at one of the tracks around the area though.
i know people who have stopped with stock 4wheel manual drums from well over 130 before. especially with those huge tires out back the car will do a lot of slowing down on it's own. so i still don't see how you think that is a legit excuse.

Don't know if I will make pocono quite yet. I'll let you know when I do the track rental at Atco in the spring.

as for changing pulleys to changing jets, yea, I got you on that one:D

Mike 02-03-2006 05:22 PM

:gheyfigh:

children, children.... you can change your jets and pullies as fast as you want. us n/a guys will just sit in the staging lanes waiting for you to finish wrenching.

I never made it an excuse. I only stated the brakes as a safety factor. The main reason I haven't gotten times on the car is cause of work and family (you know how it goes).

I really don't know how long to change jets, but I do know that changing pulleys will only take me less than 5 minutes. So, I will be in the staging lanes right next to you:burnout:

Mike 02-03-2006 05:29 PM

my car also runs under its own power, and makes it down the 1/4 mile without breaking....
and since mine can stop at the end, i have your ass beat on that one. thanks

Tru2Chevy 02-03-2006 05:33 PM

Hehe...looks like some friendly banter has turned into a few friendly grudge races for the spring. Cool Beans! :D

Hopefully I'll be out there too (not gonna be trying to keep up with you 9 & 10 second cars though).

- Justin

blown69rat 02-03-2006 05:48 PM

Justin, that is one of the reasons that I started this thread. Have some fun poking shots at each other, maybe getting things set up for spring (although it already feels like spring outside), etc.

What the hell else are we gonna do for the next few months anyway.

And for you cbrrmike, never said I couldn't stop, just can't stop real well at 100+ now, 130+ could be a different story.

turbo96z28 02-03-2006 05:59 PM

how bout a Wednsday night at Englishtown when the track opens to settle this guys?

neutral track and gives everyone a chance to get there if they want to see it.

blown69rat 02-03-2006 06:02 PM

Englishtown a neutral track????? Takes me about 2 hours to get there!!!!

Atco, cecil, grove, island (maybe).

Tsar 02-03-2006 06:04 PM
