Best couple hundred ever spent, should be here in a week. I love my job and connections! The rest is mostly a salvaged LS1 Nitrous Express System.

kiss that motor goodbye. we should get a betting pool going on how long till he blows the **** out of it.

Go pick up the latest issue of GM High Tech Performance, they did a bone stock 96 Impala SS with 115,xxx miles and sprayed a 150+hp shot into it with all the proper electronics, fuel upgrades, and tuning. They made 450rwhp & 500ft/tq on the bottle. I would never spray on the street, because theirs no real use for it. It would be for track purpose only, and as long as Im safe about it their shouldn't be a problem. Every one thinks nitrous is like voodoo or something, Ive been reading into it alittle and if you play it safe its not the end of the world.

I mean how many nitrous passes are on james stock block 3.8?

you seem to be forgetting one minor detail...

3.8 > all

Savage_Messiah 02-17-2006 10:12 AM

But the 3.8 is god's gift to man

hahahahaha matt knows where it's at...

jims69camaro 02-17-2006 10:25 AM

is that a wet system, or does it rely on the stock fuel delivery system for the extra fuel you are going to need for the nitrous oxide? just curious. the 406 will undoubtedly get addicted to the bottle.

read 4 posts above yours ;-) for real though, as long as he doesn't give it a huge shot he should be fine.

:funny: i was just gonna ask "the first one or the JYD motor after he blew the first one" lol oh well

JL8Jeff 02-17-2006 01:51 PM

There is no "safe" shot. It's the same as running a supercharger or turbo. It doesn't matter if there is plenty of fuel and it's been "tuned" well. If there is too much cylinder pressure it will blow the ringlands off the top of the pistons. 6 lbs of boost will do that and I've even seen 4.5 lbs of boost do it to an LT1. The stock LT1 pistons are not very conducive to increased pressure. I wouldn't run more than a 100 shot otherwise start putting together a purpose built short block now.

Teds89IROC 02-17-2006 01:56 PM

to me a 50 shot would be a safe shot because its similar to doing a few bolt ons. But I see what you're saying.

yeah, stop stealing threads....
otherwise, nice score alex, theres plenty of people with 6 digit mileage spraying the hell out of their lt1's, dont let anyone discourage ya:headbang:

ar0ck 02-17-2006 08:14 PM

I still say its all about running it with all the supporting mods! All this voodoo talk is from people who just slap a system on their bone stock cars, if you support it and play it safe you shouldn't have a problem.
