The 2k Socket
|
5 3/8's? what the hell do you put together with that?
|
Thats some Peterbuilt **** right there.
|
it's for trucks....
my boss has that size, but it ain't no Snap-On.... |
i used sockets that size to change the wheel bearings on large trailers...the sockets we had were made of like stamped steel and were only like 100 bucks
|
I understand that that's a large by huge impact socket, and that it's made by Snap-On, but $2,725?!?!?! That's crazy....
- Justin |
we have sockets from like 4-5 inches for taking wheel hubs off...but they arent impact, and they arent $2700...i think theyre around 50
|
can you say insanely overpriced??
|
ah... so thats where to government buys its tools...
|
Ugh...Snap On. 400 bucks for set of 3 screw drivers, they can go bite me. I can just stomach Matco, but Snap On's prices have ALWAYS been high.
But you cant beat Sears Craftsman Tools!! If you are looking to buy anything now, you can get an additional 10% off if you use your Sears or Sears Master Card!! COME BUY ****!!! |
and sears is guaranteed for life!
|
I wonder if they sell those on the truck and guard it with dogs
|
they should at least eb chrome if it is 2k...

aside form the fact Al is completely whoring, i totally agree  |
Im perfectly happy with Craftsman... if it breaks, take it back and get a new one, no questions asked. And the price is definatley right.
|
that socket is half the price of my tool box!
I partially agree with Al. craftsman is good for home use and mild mechanic work, but if you're gonna make a living spinning wrenches, you're gonna have to pony up and buy from the big boys. I have a lot of craftsman stuff, but eventually it will all be replaced by snap on. |

the Craftsman stuff can hang with Snap-on. and the best part about it is you don't have to wait a week to get it replaced if you break something 3 hours after the Snap-on guy leaves. |

that and I dont really like the handles on the craftsman ratchets. I guess I'm spoiled cause I have cusioned handled snap on ratchets 8). I have no problem using craftsman sockets, wrenches and screwdrivers, but I really like snap on's ratchets. Oh and F snap on air tools! they blow! |
I dont have to wait or drive anywhere...its on the other side of the wall.
We did have a talk about this. Craftsman do make great tools, but Matco and others have higher quality and they also have specialty tools that Craftsman doesnt make. Right now, the company is trying to stop our mechanics from using Snap On/Matco/Mac tools and just using Craftsman. They used to do a lot for our mechanics. You used to be able to get a 10k box full of tools, picked out in your color, what box, what tools, for about 4-5k, and they would just take it out of your pay every 2 weeks. It was a great deal, but for some reason not to many people took advantage of it. And yes, Im whoring out because the main store was down 10% last month. And while that doest effect me (Auto was up 5%, w00t), it does effect the mood of the store and stops bringing big, mean bosses from visiting the store and giving us a raft of ****. BTW, all the paperwork is done, numbers are good, and I get my stripes by the 16th, possibly sooner. |

I agree with Al, I have never had a problem with Craftsman and I really don't see a reason to pay for a name. Its just like everything else in life though, most of the time your just paying for the name. Though, I really really like MAG
And congrats on the stripes Al. |

Haha, I am asst manager of my store, and it took me less then a 2 years to do it!! w00t me!!
There is no ONE person I would like to fire, more like...all of them? Actualy, things have improved as far as there attitudes. There are some that need to get with the program, and there speed needs to increase. Some of the guys that are just getting through thier first 90 days are still slow and tend to over complicate things. Id like to HIRE some people, especialy sales people. Again, if anyone who loves cars, and can take getting chewed out by customers on a daily basis want to work for me, please PM me. I know a few did, just wanted to make sure that if you read this, I still have many positions open. |
