oh one ls1 SS 03-06-2006 02:32 AM

01ws6TA 03-06-2006 11:08 AM

Jclt12003 03-06-2006 12:17 PM

I must say i am a huge chevy guy but if i did not have a camaro i think my next choice on a car would be a mystic blue cobra there awsome. I love the blower wine sounds great going down the road.

I didnt think kenne bell's were that loud

Maybe Martin would know, he used to be into the Ford scene

bad64chevelle 03-06-2006 12:58 PM

Yeah martin will know.

WayFast84 03-06-2006 02:18 PM

It sounds awsome when her romps on it!

chevyt454 03-06-2006 03:14 PM

Sounds like the last of the V8's!

ar0ck 03-06-2006 05:50 PM

I'd hit it! I would take an 03/04 Cobra any day of the week. That one just sounds awsome!

JL8Jeff 03-06-2006 08:12 PM

Definitely not a sleeper there! That's almost obnoxious hearing that noise. It's like something was done on purpose to make the whine louder.

Slow Z 03-06-2006 08:17 PM

sounds pretty obnoxious if you ask me... like a cry for attention. doesn't look too fast either...

slasherbarb 03-06-2006 08:17 PM

sounds like a kenny bell...i have heard then on other cobras before and they sounded similar

Tru2Chevy 03-06-2006 10:52 PM

Sounds pretty damn good for a mod. motor.

I'm not an expert by any means, but I'm gonna guess it's a Kenne Bell, possibly with a cogged belt.

damn, I didnt think they were that loud at idle and right off idle

turbo96z28 03-06-2006 11:17 PM

if i remember rigth, Kenne Bell has quiet and noisy blowers available.

oh one ls1 SS 03-07-2006 12:33 AM

One that looks like this instead of being smoth and relying on only tension to spin the pulley:

oh one ls1 SS 03-07-2006 12:47 AM

so a differnt belt would make the whine of a supercharger sound different?

Very much so! hell, even how much tension there is on the cogged belt makes a difference.

WayFast84 03-07-2006 07:57 AM

I was gonna ask about the cogged belt...do they make LOUD super chargers for LS1's...and do they have cogged belts available?!?

Koll 03-07-2006 08:15 AM

Prob a loud cogged KB along with like a Pete Jackson GearDrive.
We had one of thoes geardrives (gets rid of the timing chain replaces it with gears) and that thing had a whine to it.

I don't think they make a gear drive for OHC motors....

****..
**** you and your overhead motors.

bad64chevelle 03-08-2006 12:30 PM

I would have to admit the whine would get old to me if it was a daily driver, however I think if it was my weekend car, I would love it.

EDIT: but then again I would drive it mostly 1st and 2nd at WOT cause I love the sound of the blower...

enRo 03-08-2006 02:16 PM

Its ok. But, if you notice (only to the naked eye), that one stretch of road with the highway, a camaro drives by! :-D
