what do you guys think on this one,

i want to say the vette but i could be wrong didnt the vette stay pretty close to th sl65 amg at 150mph+??

Rich189 03-08-2006 06:18 PM

your right bout the amg.... id say the vette would stay with it till maybe 130 or so then start falling off.... at the strip id say it would be extremeley close with the slr winning due to the fact that the vette is 6 sp and u even slightly screw up its over because your only talking bout .2 seconds

now as to which one id rather have.... if someones giving it to me def. take the benz.... if i had the money to afford either id go for the vette because its an amazing value and id mod the **** outta it :}

We have them at work

SLR weighs in at 3800 pounds
It will run 11.6 at 127.

The SLR engine is 331 ci? I think that is it off the top of my head. It runs 13 psi of boost.

Z06 is um, what CI? Huge motor.

I have heard a Z06 on stock tires going as quick as 11.4 at 126/127.

Problem is SLR owner's don't run their cars at the track.

I think the Z06 pull's 1.02 G's?
SLR pulls 0.97 G's?

ET and MPH wise they are damn close.

If the SLR went on a diet to the Z06 levle then things would be interesting.
If the Z06 had a blower it would be interesting.

Ya never know what MB has in store for the future ;)

The 65's with their 604 HP and 738 tq can dip into the 11's bone stock, 11.9 with an extremely rare 11.8.

mph can be around 122-124.

For a 65 to compete with a Z06 they would need a Renntech ECU and tranny upgrade. At that point they will be as quick as 11.4 and trap just under 130. Renntech also offers a carbon fiber air box which helps.

All these cars are all held back by the tires they run. Sticky tires makes a HUGE difference.

All the mercedes are auto's (5 speeds) and can't launch from a high rpm like a manual car (z06).....If you try and stall the converter in the mb it yanks timing and fuel :(
