Convertible top up or down?

This question kind of relates to the truck's tailgate being up or down myth. What do ya'll think would be better for a convertible, top up or down for better gas mileage or speed or whatever the myth is? I'm assuming top up, but I just wanted some opinions from ya'll.

up. as far as the tailgate goes, one of the shows on the discovery channel did an experiment with two identical trucks, one with tailgate down and one with it up, and then drove them on the highway. the tailgate up got better gas mileage, due to the design of the pickup truck and the air's turbulence coming down off the back of the pickup.

Well since my convertible only gets about a whopping 9 MPG it doesnt really matter. However if Im going to be driving it for a long distance (over 100 miles) I usually throw the top up, I dont know why but I just do lol.

yea, i wanna write them and have them redo it. The f150 they used only had like a 4" or 5" bed length. What about a 8 foot fullsized bed? and how much can be improved with a tonneu cover.

yea i was just about to say that they did it on myth busters, are you sure they got better gas mileage with it up, down would seem like the more logical one to me....
