qwikz28 03-25-2006 06:55 PM

330/350

afr was dead on 13 and my cars only performance mods are a lid, catback, maf, and clutch/flywheel. my stock tune is unbelievable.

those are some very nice numbers!

*edit*

that also explains why you trap so F-ing high!

Savage_Messiah 03-25-2006 08:08 PM

copying from the dyno day thread...

179.75 RWHP, 204.52 RWTQ... assuming a 20% drivetrain loss (due to stock auto 3.8s normally dynoing in the area of 160 RWHP) thats about 225 HP and 256 TQ... not bad. AFR was a little funky tho, mainly around 14:1, i guess I do still have that exhaust leak... lol

I've got some pics, and scans of my dyno sheet and brandons, ill post em once my dad emails them to me

project89 03-25-2006 08:25 PM

i always thought the v6 cars went by 15% loss due to the fact they have smaller converters

coldkilla 03-25-2006 08:49 PM

wow holy **** what a ride home!!! well for those of you that left early and didnt get to see, i was the first to last car, the green 93 firebird with black hood and black rims, and after waiting all that time there was some disappointments and some surprises to be had! well, the car made 269hp and 303tq which is about 20 hp less than i was hoping for but maybe its related to what happened while the car was on the dyno which was, my catalytic convertor, a mac high flow model, ****ing melted! yeah, it was dripping on the floor, so monday after work thats getting hollowed out. And then i sprung a coolant leak from my upper radiator hose! i gotta give props to the TTPerformance guys for helping me out with some coolant, duct tape, and extra time, thanks guys. yeah so then im on my way home down the turnpike all the way to exit 3 driving frickin 60mph and constantly checking the gauges and hoping my cat doesnt catch fire and my coolant doesnt leak and then it starts to rain around exit 7 and guess what, my windshield wipers dont work. yeah, i had fun getting home. but at least i made it home, i know whats wrong and its gonna get fixed asap. what a ****ing day, at least the food was good!

I know it doesn't pertain to this dyno day, but I dynoed at TTP back in November it was I believe

A/F was 13 on the nose

headers intake exhaust are my mods

341/354 through an auto :)

TTP is top notch imo

V 03-25-2006 10:28 PM

the 87 Monte SS.. 201hp 278TQ... sorta dissapointing,(was running a dirty K&N, regular gas, and A/F was around 12... but nevertheless.. plans for a motor swap are now under way

gotta love that TPI torque though. at what RPM did you make those numbers?

project89 03-25-2006 11:11 PM

man i really wished i coulda made it

BigAls87Z28 03-25-2006 11:44 PM

278ftlbs at 600rpm.

NP_00'T/A 03-26-2006 12:07 AM

310 hp & 333 tq

V 03-26-2006 03:15 AM

i dont know what rpm... the graph is in hp vs. MPH, and im not sure what gear they used.. once i know the gear i can figure out rpm, i think they used 3rd or 4th. The one thing i did like about the 4 pulls was they they were all almost dead on with eahc other with considerably smooth curves and no jumping, so its running consistant. Now i gotta get the car to the track to get some ETs... maybe thatll save the TPI setup... otherwise.. out it comes.

**EDIT**
87 L98 225@4400 330@2800
88 L98 230@4400 330@3200
89 L98 240@4400 345@3200
90 L98 245@4400 345@3200
91 L98 245@4400 345@3200
92 L98 245@4400 345@3200

those are the factory rated numbers... I have a rebuilt 87 shortblock(stock bore, stock internals) just with a 90-92 style TPI setup. So basically im pretty close. I also dont have any tune yet, the custom chip is just to run the L98 with the T5, no A.I.R., and no VATS. My mods are only K&N, headers, catback and LT1 injectors. Possibly a set of aluminum heads, and a bigger cam will up the HP enough to satisfy me. But since i dont really want to spend the money to upgrade the TPI setup, i dunno if itll be worth it, but a blower on top of a heads/cam combo is also another possiblity. All in all, i'm happy with HOW the car ran, considering i rebuilt the motor all by myself and I did all the assembly and wiring of the TPI. And im confident, with 91 octane gas, a clean filter and tunign it a little leaner, i think i could hit 210hp
