Man, Chevy has some balls now...

Has anyone seen the new Chevy SUV commercials?

They're trying to compare the Equinox to the RX330 saying it's bigger and costs like $15,000 less. Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight, the Equinox is NOWHERE near the quality of the RX. I mean really, do they think someone that's looking at a RX is really going to even consider the Equinox? I know I wouldn't.

Next is them comparing the Tahoe to the LX SUV. That one I can see, I'd probably take the Tahoe over the LX.

Still though, big balls.

i dont know man. my sister has an 05 RX330 and i like driving my 06 saturn vue more. it has more interior space and much more power. RX is much more comfortable and has a million more features though. my sisters car already has a liitle squeak in the dash and had to go back to the dealer for something else. my saturn has only 2k miles less and is goin like a champ. its not only me too, my parents both like driving my car more then the lexus so whatever.

Frosty 04-22-2006 07:32 PM

I've driven both and the Equinox is nowhere near the quality.

drive the saturn. totally different interior and drivetrain

Frosty 04-22-2006 07:44 PM

I've driven the Vue as well, I like it.

BigAls87Z28 04-22-2006 08:44 PM

They didnt claim it had better quality, The Nox's style is very RXish in design, has more room on the inside, and it costs less. Thats exactly what they stated, there is no "big balls" needed. If they compared the quality of the Nox vs the RX330, then I can see the large testicals it would take to claim that, but size, design and price...very true.

Frosty 04-22-2006 09:32 PM

I figured GM's biggest fanboi would come in.

Dude, they're comparing their junk SUV to a Lexus which is comical. They're only pointing out what is better on their side. Do you really think someone is sitting there watching the commercial thinking "Wow, it has more interior room? I'm gonna go buy one right now"

Rob WS6 04-23-2006 12:14 AM

Wow this is cool, I get to read the same post on two seperate boards!

 They are comparing the design and space of the SUV. Not the quality of build, not the amount of gizmoz (while the Nox does have a lot of them too). Do I think that anyone cross shops a Nox and a RX330? No, but people like to have high style for a low price, and THATS who they are attracting. The addition of space is also a HUGE issue if you are buying a CUV, as you want a lot of space to cary things. Why buy a CUV if not to have a lot of space? No one cross shops a 300C with a Bently either, so dont get all flabergasted there big fella.

Why do I even bother, you're totally missing my point but whatever, any time someone says something bad about GM you come running in like a hero trying to save the day

listen buddy, being overpriced, having leather, and having a lot of features doesnt mean ****. I've prolly driven hundreds of lexus's at my job,
I would never own one of those POS's... I hate em. Biggest joke of a "luxury" car, and possibly the most overpriced cars out there period.

thats a bit of a stretch there buddy. my first car was a toyota and i do have loyalty to them cause i can personally attest to their quality. some people prefer all the doo-dads and creature comforts in a lexus. some people prefer the feel and value of an american car. my sister the former and myself the latter. its really no big deal

Savage_Messiah 04-23-2006 12:13 PM

most of them have ****** leather, various little squeaks rattles and broken parts, and absolutely NOTHING justifying the amount of money the cars cost.

It's still leaps and bounds nicer than the Equinox. I'm just trying to understand Chevy's logic here going after the Lexus SUV's. I mean, I personally think they're barking up the wrong tree. Regardless of the price Chevy is nowhere near Lexus. They then use the Equinox of all vehicle(which is one of the biggest POS vehicle they make) to go after Lexus? WTF? I just don't get it.

tony i think you're missing the point here. i dont think they are trying to take any sales away from lexus. i think they are just saying that their 20k suv has as much space as a 40k suv and looks cool as well. i think thats a fair comparison.

Savage_Messiah 04-23-2006 12:24 PM

jake: the lexus leather is too plasticy for my taste. My stand is if you wanna make a luxury brand of cars go all out... or at least dont half ass it.

Frosty: I dunno, as far as i know they're moving a good number of Equinox's so maybe their logic is that people are buying them already so use it as the posterboy... or something like that, if that made any sense.

Savage_Messiah 04-23-2006 12:25 PM

Jake that idea works too

BigAls87Z28 04-23-2006 02:12 PM

Chevy isnt going after Lexus!! What part of that dont you understand? Its a comparision of DESGIN and SPACE.
The Nox is actualy a very nice CUV, and NOT a big POS. It does sell very well, and they are in no way trying to steal sales from Lexus, as they probably double Lexus's sales per month. Im not defending GM, you are just trying to make this out to be bigger then it really is. All they did was compare style and space along with price, not quality of leather or anything of the sort!!
BTW, this year you can get DVD Navigation for the Nox as well as standard ABS 4 wheel disk and standard StabiliTrak.

ill take toyota reliability over chevy any day. **** they've droped a toyota truck in the ocean and left it there for a while in top gear and the damn thing still worked. now spray a chevy with a garden hose and it will probably fall apart. or maybe the roof will come off if you're driving down the road
