Serious Springs Question
Installed, I have the KYB AGX shocks with the BMR 1" Lowering Springs. This may sound odd but the rear of the car is dropped about 2.5 inches from the stock ride height (only suppose to be 1"), in which case the 315's on the TT2's arent gonna fit under there even if i did roll the fender lips. Is there anyway I can lift the rear up about 1.5 inches without changing out the new springs? FWIW this is on a 1/8 tank gas and stock weight

Spring rubbers would be a cheapo solution, but I would suggest contacting the vendor for the springs and confirming that you have the correct part number for the rear. Rear springs are an easy swap if they are incorrect.

they make a donut type of thing but you will have to take it all apart anyway so its like a band aid change out for the correct ride height springs less of a problem down the road jz

noah BMR springs should fit 315s without a problem at all. i will bet kasey's life that he forgot to reinstall the isolator. do your rear springs squeak?
edit: i just noticed about your shocks. please ditch the kyb jellies and get some better shocks. that may be your problem as welllll |
Eh, KYB AGXs aren't too bad Jake, they are better than the stock deCarbons. I would check to see if the isolator is in you should be able to do this in your driveway with a flashlight....

Shocks have nothing to do with ride height *unless* they are Binding, or you are using air shocks (bad idea!)

Yes Jake, I know there are better shocks out there, I was just pointing out the fact that they aren't *bad* shocks.

K. Well car is back, and I checked the springs and NO insulators were found (unless im looking in the wrong spot which is doubtful) . As for the shocks, I dont have the money to pull outta my ass to change out shocks back and forth to find the perfect ride... the shocks do their job and thats all i care about. But what I care about is the fact the 17x11 TT2s do not fit on the rear of the car because the fender lip is in the way. Even if i did roll the lip back, its still got about a half inch until I see the littlest bit of clearance. So what should I do? Im not the expert in the Springs field, so I dunno how/what it takes to get insulators in there, if it requires removal of the spring or what... so any help will be appreciated.

you need those isolators man. get a set and throw them in there and call it a day

Thanks for the help. Im just so psyched and impatient to see the outcome of the look of the car with the stuff I had done. All I really gotta do now after the insulators is fit the TT2's and throw on the hockey stripes and the exterior is... D O N E !

Yea, you may want to order a set of 1" lift isolators from Summit or Jegs, they are pretty cheap. Just pull the springs out with the back of the car jacked up and the rear fully extended, stick the isolators on top of them, and shove them back in. The lower the car and make sure they seat correctly.
