coolant question

i know this one isnt the very bright but the crap they sell in wally world, is it already premixed or do i have to mix 50/50 with water if i was to do a coolant flush? the container doesnt say anything.

qwikz28 05-14-2006 11:00 PM

if it doesnt say anything its probably not 50/50. you do know your gonna need distilled water right?

79CamaroDiva 05-14-2006 11:01 PM

if the container doesnt say anything, you probably have to mix it. usually the premixed stuff says its 50/50.

You can pick up Distilled Water anywhere I think. I usually get it at CVS type places when Im working with my dad. (medical lazers use distilled water)

reg water has impurities that cause corrosion. you dont want that in your radiator. my pharmacy sells a gallon for a dollar. distilled water = pure h2o for the most part

ok got it i guess im gonna have to run to the store and get water now...geez

ya know, i've never used distilled water in anything, always just well water. Never had a problem

btw. You can distill water yourself too if you must. you just have to boil it for 10 mins or something, never had any reason to do it though.

A&P has distilled water too. i used it for my denali, only the best for my cars... that run.

trashman01 05-15-2006 09:18 AM

hey pual how long before u chop up the denali and part it out?

Tsar 05-15-2006 12:16 PM

so um..space station went on a journey to find some distilled water. i went to wally world, quick check, and shop rite and didnt find squat? all they had was like poland spring and some other **** like that. can i put poland spring in there? cuz i got plenty of that stuff around my house.

GP99GT 05-15-2006 12:39 PM

any bottled water should be fine, it usually comes in gallon jugs like milk does.

i used water right from my garden hose (well water, not city water) so we'll see what happens. i was too lazy to get distilled water

Tsar 05-15-2006 12:41 PM

cool, poland spring FTW!

BonzoHansen 05-15-2006 08:25 PM

From what I hear, tap water will make that dex-cool **** gel up, and pretty quick. Thus the use of distilled water.

Brando56894 05-15-2006 08:29 PM

yea i gotta flush mine out too, was gonna do it at school but never had the time...
