700R4 2.8 V6 transmission Question!

a friend of mine is in need of a transmission for his 1984 camaro V6 auto

i see theres one here on the boards from a 1986 2.8 V6, but would it work for his 84??

i heard pre 85' the splines were 27 and 85+ they were 31
as long as the torque converter comes with the tranny, it should work right?

will it still bolt up to the engine?

Thanks!!

the bolt pattern and bell housing length on the V6 trannies is different than the V8's.

hey one more thing all v6 700r4 transmissions are 27 spline, though in 85 or 86+ there was a few changes made to the valve body and certian internal parts.91-92 v6 700r4's are the best as they came with a little looser converter
