Trans lube

Savage_Messiah 05-22-2006 04:18 PM

woulsn't you be fine with any dexron III??

Tsar 05-22-2006 04:20 PM

the only lube i found in wally world was mobil 1 syn. ATF. well besides the super tech (i think) but im not putting none of their **** in my car ever.

Savage_Messiah 05-22-2006 04:22 PM

mobil 1 FTL... example: getting gear oil, every brand was $4 and change per quart, then mobile one was 16 DOLLARS for one damn quart of gear oil

Come to think of it... you don't want ATF... ATF = automatic transmission fluid, no?? and you have a manual?

Tsar 05-22-2006 04:26 PM

i know that ATF stand for auto. trans. fluid, but ive seen people put it in the manuals before. am i wrong?

Savage_Messiah 05-22-2006 04:42 PM

I was under the impression that you use gear oil

Tsar 05-22-2006 04:43 PM

um...i think we gonna need 3rd opinion

read the side of the t-56 and T5's too. you use ATF Dextron or mercron (SP). Drain it, pull the shifter dump it down the shifter hole until it overflows out the fill hole. 3.8 quarts needed.

Savage_Messiah 05-22-2006 05:19 PM

I'd go with what he said then

Ian 05-22-2006 05:31 PM

no, you keep the fill hole unplugged and fill from the top until it flows out the fill hole. You can pump it in through the fill hole, but its a pain in the ass. You need to pump it in or rig a tube to get in there.

Gravity FTW!!!!!!!
