A spin off of the beach meet thread...how much would you chip in?

So lets say we decide to have a meet that requires money upfront (deposit, group rate etc): How much would you chip in? Put your max amount you'd be willing/able to chip in.

Tsar 05-26-2006 09:12 AM

how much is needed?

bencar 05-26-2006 09:46 AM

Sounds interesting, but being on a nearly non-existent budget, kinda limits what I can afford. Keep me posted though, hopefully I can attend if this thing comes off.

GP99GT 05-26-2006 09:49 AM

$55? thats not that much...i could do like 10 bucks, since its also a semi far drive

ShitOnWheels 05-26-2006 10:00 AM

This is kinda to see approximately how much can be raised if needed. If everyone chips in the amount they can, we could raise xx amount of money for a deposit or whatever. This way Tim and Justin don't have to use their own money or wait until the club has money to use for a meet.

Using the lowest number of each choice, and the 5 ppl voting thus far, we already have $29. That's really not too bad.

Now that I look at it, I should split up $11 - $20.

Savage_Messiah 05-26-2006 10:02 AM

6-10

Ian 05-26-2006 05:42 PM

I put 11-20, but if we were running out of time and we were short, I'd cough up more to help meet the goal.

:werd: id be glad to pay for the beach meet...but only this one  im unemployeed so i cant waste money

NJSPEEDER 05-26-2006 05:59 PM

i think you are all missing the point here.
it isn't whether or not people say they will chip in, it is whether or not the money is sitting in the club fund so i can write the check a month ahead of time for he meet.
talking about it and getting it done are two different things. so if anyone wants to actually get this done, start going over to the t-shirt and donation thread and start buying shirts or making donations.

But if we all chip in a month ahead of time, you'd be able to write that check. I'd be willing to chip in for a few people who couldn't a month ahead, and I would guess others would do so as well, so that we can set up something requiring a deposit.

NJSPEEDER 05-26-2006 06:13 PM

the money comes out of our club fund. talking about it doesn't add money to the club fund, so all of this talk isn't getting anyone anywhere.
to get this done we need donations or t-shirts sales, not a lot, but enough to cover the $55 fee.
this is prolly also a good time to point out that there is no date yet, we don't know what dates are available because the park offices are closed(holiday weekend), and we don't know who will be available to attend once a date is picked.

project89 05-26-2006 06:21 PM

ill throw up 20

WayFast84 05-26-2006 09:27 PM

BigAls87Z28 05-26-2006 09:39 PM

Wow, when was the last time anyone of you have been to the beach?

**** the "club" meet thing. We are friends. We, as friends, want to go to the beach. Lets go to the beach.
There is no need to pitch it, use funds....NO just go to the beach? What is the problem? Why do we need an act of congress and 3 threads about going to the ****ing beach. Just go
July 15th. Pick a beach. Be at the beach. hang out at the beach. Go home. What is so hard about this? Dont wana go to the beach? Dont go, no one is forcing you. We dont need tents, or a seperate area, or anything like that. We just go. I go with my family every week to the beach, there is no problem. I am still failing to see the problem. This convo should never happen. We just meet up. Thats it, end of story. Lock this thread and the one the Commie started. Lets fix a date, location, and time. Done deal, wrap it up, see you on July 15th.

I agree, which is what I first said in the original thread. We all drive in, either by meeting at a spot outside the gate and driving in, or just meeted in a lot, and go chill on the beach. Bring food and/or drinks, or order from the snack bar. You could go for $20 a person...the same as at a restaurant, and we don't do group rates or deposits for those.

Tim, what I meant was a month in advance of when money would be due to the place. I know not everyone will know 2 months in advance of the meet if they can go, or even want to put money up for one, which made me realize it's not the best option or wouldn't work out too well in the end. But don't think that a place requiring a deposit is impossible currently. I think it could be done, either by donations ahead of time, a fundraising drive for the specific purpose, or just people sending money to reach a goal.

NJSPEEDER 05-26-2006 11:53 PM

Al, the idea of a beach meet was presented and it is being looked into. just happens to be a holiday weekend which means the people who i need to talk to about reservations and fees are out of the office. no need to spaz out and try to forget the whoel idea, just wait for the appropriate information to be available and we will try to put something together that we can all enjoy.

Genie, if people want to donate so that we can put on activities that require a deposit, they shoudl do so. that being said, there is a grand difference between people saying they will donate or pay for something and then actually doing it. it is a simple fact that a fraction of those who promise support end up giving any at all, much less at the initiually promised level.

everyone needs to take a deep breath and chill out. you all may have noticed that a few meets have been put together efore based on the suggestions of members, and ithis idea will be persued the same way.
once we have the information we can pick an option. geussing dates and ways to pay for it and declaring it every man for themselves is premature at this point.

NJSPEEDER 05-26-2006 11:55 PM

if anyone is interested in helping the club fund raise by purchasing a t-shirt or making a donation, http://www.njfboa.org/tshirt.html

Ian 05-27-2006 12:01 AM

Tim, I think you misunderstood Al. he doesnt care if its an official meet or not. I dont really care either. We just want to hang out as friends on the beach. If everyone wants to bring their F-bodies and park together, thats just an added bonus.

NJSPEEDER 05-27-2006 12:15 AM

some people want a club meet, some don't care. the only thing i can do is collect information and present options. that is what i will do.
if anyone does not want to be a part of any club activity that may result from looking into this, that is entirely up to them. we have no requirements for our membership to be anywhere or participate in anything we do.

Exactly. **** the meet. There is no meet. If someone wants to put up a tent and have a little party, thats fine. This is a few people, who are friends, that will go to the beach. Thats it. Nothing more. No NJFBOA shirts, no awards, no 1/4 drag runs....just beach.

NJSPEEDER 05-27-2006 01:48 AM

if you and your friends want to go to the beach that is great. but what does it have to do with the club?
the initial post that started all of this, was about having a club meet at the beach. that is the information i am looking into. if you and some of your friends want to go to the beach, have fun. if you or other are interested in a club activity at the beach, that is great too.
no one is asking you to do anything al. so if you don't want to be a part of a club meet, you don't have to be.
