Basement is 75% completed w0oT

This is my living area obviously (minus kitchen and bathroom) . Moved down here from my previous bedroom which was very small, later taken over by younger cousin last September. Been doing a little work here and there, and so far its going pretty well. The ceiling is 7 1/2 feet from the floor, and its @27ft by @23ft. I painted the concrete walls white and painted the cement flooring gray. Also added carpeting (since the flooring is a little bumpy, I didnt even bother going all out with carpets) I dont plan on adding any sheetrock to the walls cuz I dont wanna risk water damage (FYI concrete absorbs water and hence my basement is underground, the walls absorb the water from the ground and the walls stay SLIGHTLY damp which isnt really visible or noticable) . I might add removable padding to the ceiling to cover up the wires, exposed lights, and pipes. I also got an 8 ft long executive desk coming here next week wooo. Still gotta neaten up the wires but next thing to do is move my sister's computer desk upstairs to her room, then Im gonna add in a "lounge" which will include a cpl loveseats, another TV, pool table (and the beer fridges shown in last pic) :-D Then the basement is pretty much mine for now until I buy a house. I pretty much have to deal with the laundry room being there along with low-hanging pipes and the furnace which is ok. BTW, most of the stuff seen in the pictures came from my job :kneeslap:

Problem, one of the pipes is so low i gotta duck down to roughly 5 feet tall to get past it... and if i enclosed the furnace or any part of the basement for that matter, taxes will skyrocket, especially in this town cuz its at a really high rate.

Thanks man. Someone comes every 7 or so years to evaluate houses for taxes. When my parents bought the house in 1989, taxes were $2100/yr ... last year it was at a little under $6000 ... thats for a seperate garage thats bigger than most houses in the area, 2 lots, and a 1800 sq ft home. And the pipe is for the heating system (we have old school radiators)

I got the TV as a christmas present... but I got the Becks light, coffee table, candles, armoir, brass decoratives, guitar, surround sound, and cologne/hat/shoe rack, plus alot more from my job :-D

looks pretty sweet noah

Tru2Chevy 06-05-2006 02:52 PM

Looks pretty good Noah. I live in the basement too. My living area is temporarily being used for storage, so it's pretty messy. I'll have to snap some pics of mine later, although most of you have prolly seen it in the various party pictures that have been posted over the last few years.
