Damn. Wat did u hit? Ur alright i guess?

Brando56894 06-06-2006 11:43 AM

yea i hit a tree, i was commin (at 12:30 at night, it was pitch black and i WASNT driving like an *******/ricer/whatever) around a corner and drove through a puddle i didnt see (let me rephrase this, its more like a freakin lake, theres a few new houses on that corner and one has an auto sprinkler system that floods the road with water, ill post the pics later) since there arent any lights around there and as i was exiting the turn i accelerated and the rear tires broke loose, i tried to correct it, oversteered, did a 180 and smacked a tree with my driverside wheel/fender. i'm fine, my friend and i werent hurt at all in it.... though the dudes tree is messed up

I'm confused

Savage_Messiah 06-06-2006 12:58 PM

well I know if I got 9100 bucks to fix it i'd fix what's necessary, find panels for cheap, and put the rest towards fun stuff

wow i think thats the meanest thing youve said to me so far :???: and i doubt you could of saved it so :stfu:

exactly the reason i didnt post this up when it happened but i figured some of you guys might know a good place to get it fixed. Trenton is about an hour and a half from me and the car wont drive cause the suspension and all that is shot on the drivers side...

as for the money i actually got around 11 grand but since they totaled it i had to buy it back for around a grand or some ****. about 2 grand is going to my dad (around $850 for my computer **** and about a grand for the insurance surcharges) and whatever money is leftover im gonna put into the car. As for getting an LT1 TA i dont really like the 4.1 gen firebirds/TAs all that much. in the near future an LT1 or an LS1 might go in there though

heres the pics (these were taken on the same day) :

GP99GT 06-06-2006 02:23 PM

did you read the thread where we were talking about costs to swap in a v8 to a v6 car? not worth it.

buy the car now, or be stuck with a v6 forever.

if i were you, i wouldnt have bought the car back, just move on and get something new.

its Jeanne-Marie 06-06-2006 02:30 PM

awww brandoid, you know i'm only kidding around with you...it's not your fault ;)

Savage_Messiah 06-06-2006 02:39 PM

don't mean to sound like too much of a dick but... thats... it???

Ian, thsi one's a hell of a puddle eh?? ;)

my brothers friend said he could do it for about $8-900 all i have to do is buy the engine/tranny and wiring harness. thats a helluva lot cheaper then buying a whole new car. plus i like my car...

heres a whole LS1 drive train on ebay for $3,500 all i'd need to buy is the wiring harness and i'd have a (fake) 2001 formula :D

GP99GT 06-06-2006 02:51 PM

engine, tranny, wiring harness...$3-6k there, plus the 6k youre paying to get it fixed, plus the car will never be as solid as it was again, plus the extra 1g to swap it, then you need v8 springs, probably a new driveshaft, a new rear, the list goes on and on. LS1 TA would end up cheaper in the long run

Savage_Messiah 06-06-2006 03:00 PM

i could supply the v8 springs lol

Brandon please post up pics of the damage

Brando56894 06-06-2006 03:26 PM

yea it looks good from the passanger side, but not from the driver's side

keep in mind matt that the money for getting it fixed isnt commin outta my pocket :) and after i posted the link to that LS1 i found another drivetrain with 77k on it for $1500. even if i needed to buy the wiring harness, new rear, and driveshaft (which i was gonna do anyway) thats what about 2 grand?? so for about 4 grand i could have it done. and if the frame is a little messed i'll just get them to straighten it and i'll have it reinforced with either aftermarket parts or have the shop do something...

yea shes hurt, this is the only section thats damaged but we think alot of the under lying **** is damaged too (the passengerside wheel is facing straight and is still connected but the drivers side is shot)....

http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c5...puddle/car.jpg

GP99GT 06-06-2006 03:52 PM

i wouldnt buy an LS1 with 77k on it unless i was going to rebuild it.

Mike 06-06-2006 04:50 PM

brandon.......i have a red 98+ hood, and may have the headlight assembly/cover........i also have a set of stock silver camaro wheels, and since you will probably need front left suspension ill hook you up with the hr springs and spohn swaybars........

i can make it all one big package deal if your interested...

qwikz28 06-06-2006 05:38 PM

glad your alright dufus

fix the car and invest the rest in driving school
