enRo 06-08-2006 01:41 PM

Ok WTF P/T Cruiser lookalike, they'll slap an SS badge on anything...

Tru2Chevy 06-08-2006 01:58 PM

It may not be pretty, but that ought to stomp a mudhole in any PT Cruiser GT Turbo....

260hp turbo 4cyl combined with the Cobalt SS/SC's handling parts...Im in.
And outside of it being a retro 5dr mini-ute, there is nothing that they share visualy.

Look at those curves. The first time I saw one, i thought it was a Renault Clio, then looked again, thought it was a newly designed PT Cruiser, but wait... theres a bowtie on the front. Lmao

BigAls87Z28 06-08-2006 02:40 PM

Neg, you are mixing ideas with design. Its a 5dr retro cute ute, thats where it ends. Grill is different, fenders are different, overall shape is different. Wheels are much larger, greenhouse is totaly different, car is above and beyond a totaly different car then the PT.

12secondv6 06-08-2006 02:41 PM

crap

Savage_Messiah 06-08-2006 03:14 PM

they are sitting at reedman/toll next to each other in the lot. they really aren't all that different looking as far as the general shape and styling cues.
as much as GM is saying how different the two vehicles are you can see plain as day that lutz is recycling a successful idea from his past.

not saying it isn't a nice little car, jsut saying it ain't as original as the GM press releases like to sound.

79CamaroDiva 06-08-2006 05:42 PM

weight reduction, doh

enRo 06-08-2006 05:46 PM

Actually, now that I think about it, looks like a crossbreed between a PT Cruiser and a Durango,

jola 06-08-2006 05:52 PM

they do look similar, but isn't that to be expected? weren't they both making a throwback retro woody-inspired wagonish car-based vehicle? i'd take the HHR over the PT any day though. i like the fenders and grille.

BigAls87Z28 06-08-2006 06:01 PM

Exactly, they are both 5dr retrowagons. Thats it.
Look at the rear of the car, the 3rd window. On the PT, its a small little piece of glass, on the HHR, its a very large window.
Grill is totaly different, as is the hood design.
HHR has a very long and low look to it, while the PT is very fat and short design to it.
Again, while they both share the same idea and even the same designer, they are 2 very different vehicles, and I dont belive its that hard to tell them apart. Plus, you can get a lot more bling with the HHR, and soon, a lot more power.

NJSPEEDER 06-08-2006 06:02 PM

so other than being the same idea warmed over by the same guy they are completely different? lol

Tsar 06-08-2006 06:03 PM

no matter what anyone says its still fugly as ****, nahh wait the stuff that comes out of my butt is actually nicer looking. i hope it burns in hell.

V 06-08-2006 07:06 PM

the wheels are aftermarket. the "other" set of holes are for vehicles with a smaller bolt circle

 so instead of doing it the RIGHT way and making two seperate sets of wheels, whatever company decided to make it 2 in 1 just to put added stress on the wheels of this power monster. I've seen enough centers come out of wheels that weren't drilled like that. No thanks.

Brando56894 06-08-2006 08:51 PM

i think its pretty fugly, i like the PT better but id still never buy one....
