because we lose so much money on every car we build, when u bild a car like that u just dont get paid for all the work and time u put into it,so my uncle has decided to stop working on cars,we will still be doing stuff like custom driveshafts, rearends, and possibly engine building/trans work but no more building cars, hotrods,or race car chassis, were going to be doing all industrial fabrication work ffrom now on since we make alot more money doing it.(we get 100$'s an hour for doing industrial type work compared to say 40-55$'s an hour for dong car stuff) and the thing is if it takes u 2-3 hours to make up some custom brakets for somethig u cant really charge the guy for all the time.
i personally hate the industrial work, ive worked at my uncles shop for like 12 years now but im thinking its time to quit and find a job in another shop if possible

big - i can get more pics prolly when i go back to work on monday, and when he takes it back to the track im going, ill get some pics of it there should be able to get some nice wheel standing pics

WayFast84 06-11-2006 11:13 AM

Too cheap!!! Especially for high quality work. The lawn mower place by me gets $65 an hour now. I almost fainted when I saw that.

cause i fixed the rear in his car that day,lol to late i started it up while he was there also
bonzo on a project of this size u just cant charge somebody that much labor per hour, its hard to justify 5-7 hours on custom motor mounts with intergrated alt mount @ 65+ an hour.most car ppl are the same want great work but dont want to pay for it.or when u tell them u have to make something there first thing they say is i can get that from summit or jegs for alot less money, not relizing that it will have to be modified anyway to work and wont look as nice as if the part is just made right the first time.
