Hmmmm, another 50 year flood?
The Delaware River is rising quickly once again thanks to all this rain. It's up about 8-10 feet since yesterday morning and looks like it will continue to go up with all the water coming down from the Poconos and NY. We had a 50 year flood in Sep 2004, then another 50 year flood that was even higher in Apr 2005 so why not another 50 year flood in 2006! The biggest pain in the butt is keeping the dock and boat safe. I had to pull the dock/boat in last night and again this morning. Rain, rain go away!

its not really a 50 year flood if it is an annual occurrance ha
Yeah We went down 29 & honestly didnt notice this morning but my coworker was talking about it this morning
some of you may remember this http://mysite.verizon.net/whenn1/Riverpic1.jpg |
It's coming up fast. It's already up another 1.5 feet since this morning and with more rain expected it probably won't slow down. The other floods my boat wasn't in the water so it becomes a bigger pain in the butt now. And I just sold my trailer last week so I could get a newer one so I have no way to get the boat out if I wanted to! The worst part, I told my cousin the day he sold my trailer with his boat that we would probably get a flood now that my trailer was gone. DOH!

Well, the river has come up another 8 feet since this morning and it looks like it will come up another 5-8 feet overnight. I just got back from pulling in the lower steps and the dock and cutting off some tree branches since my boat is now up in the trees! I'll try and get some pictures tomorrow during the day.
I just found out they're calling for a crest at Trenton around 26 ft which will actually be higher than last spring and the picture Bill posted above! And if we get any more significant rain overnight or tomorrow those river heights could be even higher! |
AWESOME! take pics!
Here's a chart from this morning showing the reading at Phillipsburg. The river has gone up 25 feet in 2-1/2 days and it's still climbing!

I just heard they're shutting down Rt 29 SB. I'm sure the NB side won't be far behind.

I remember the ones last year, they were crazy! I cant believe that they will be even higher this year. Noah get workin on that arc were gonna need to put two of every kinda car on it so make it big!
I just got back from pulling the dock in some more and cutting down some tree branches again. It sure looks like it will be higher than last year. I'll post pictures later when I get home.
I love how its going to flood again & we're under a drought advisory at the same time
Wow! They just updated the forecast peak for Trenton and it's now almost 28 feet tomorrow! That's 3 feet higher than the picture above from last year! It looks like most of the towns along the river will record the 2nd highest readings ever on the Delaware tomorrow! It's like all the people up north flushed their toilets at the same time! And it sure smells like it!
better then a pics above? pics or ban!!!
Basically this is what it will look like tomorrow

Yeah, and it will start backing it's way up into the basements of a lot of the buildings down in Trenton. Mostly gov't buildings so our taxes will probably go up too! Oh yeah, the governor wants to raise the sales tax to 7% anyway. This state sucks!
Maybe it'll wash the governor away.....we could only be so lucky!
Maybe it'll wash you guys off a little bit.
(sorry, former Bethlehem, PA resident here) |
And all the water in the river is dirty north jersey water form dirty north jersey.
All politicians in NJ suck. |
