Help me find an ex system

i have to get rid of the flowmaster on the car its killing me on the top end,
im looking for something else to put on the car and so far alls i can come up with is a borla or edelbrock muffler.what other options do i have
the only other thing that has been suggested to me would be an import style stright threw muffler, which i really dont want to do,

btw dosent need to retain the factory dual tailpipes
chambered mufflers are a no go chamberd muffler+ turbo = not good

I have a Dnomax Ultraflo 3" inlet dual 2-1/2" outlet for sale if you're interested. $80 and it's brand new. This sucker is pretty much a straight through that is listed at 1200+ cfm.

Another vote for Spintech here!

project89 07-09-2006 11:02 AM

i like the way spintech sounds but arent they a chambered muffler liek the flowmasters?

My friend Barry is selling his motor in his street car, he's Mufflex's 4" back to the rear w/Spintech w/ dual 2-1/2" tails on it,w/ no cats. I'll ask him if he would sell it.

not quite. It has coils inside that absorb the sound instead of chambers and baffles.

The Banks Power Pack system I had on my 82 was one of the best sounding exhausts I ever heard. But the dynomax muffler I replaced the banks muffer (rusted out) with sounded real good too.

If he does want to sell it, please let me know. I would be very interested....

Dunno. It was whatever Dynomax muffler fit my Banks pipes nicely. :) 3” in, dual 2” (or maybe 2.5” – I forget) out same side. I'm just saying in generally I like the Dynomax sound - not too loud - but by all reports I read 'back in the day' they still flowed as well as noisier ones. And it wasn't silent by any means.

thnx for the suggestions guys,im either gonna go with the spintech 3 inch in and single 3 out,or the dynomax.any idea which one would be quieter?

I have dual oval 4" w/ Spintech race mufflers and there very quiet with 15.1 comp. and it was done by Mufflex which did a great job.JR1.

project89 07-10-2006 01:02 PM

4 inch inlet is way to big for a 6 cyl

Ian 07-10-2006 05:43 PM

A kid I went to high school with had a spintech cat-back on his 2000 SS and it was nice and quiet idling and while cruising, but when he got on it it got a little louder. I just really like those mufflers because they dont sound like anything else.

Savage_Messiah 07-10-2006 05:46 PM

Magnaflow 3"?

Frosty 07-10-2006 07:20 PM

SLP two on the left. It's great if you can get past the looks. It flows GREAT and sounds good at WOT.

Ian 07-10-2006 07:21 PM

:stupid:

thats what I had on my GTA.

Frosty 07-10-2006 07:28 PM

So did I and I loved it.
