Ughhh Why Are People Stupid
Especially the ones from Tenessee
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...RK%3AMEWA%3AIT Cliff Notes ... Pontiac SD-400 + Turbo 400 in a 98 Firebird. |
Why would someone do that to that car?
I think it's kinda cool....
Would be nice to see some more detailed pics. - Justin |
Its not the idea that bugs me... its why the hell did he put a Pontiac 400... i woulda done a SBC 400 instead.
Just one of those old Poncho guys who hates the fact that they put a Chevy motor in a Firebird....
- Justin |
If he had real balls, he would have done a 301 Turbo!
interesting.
I think thats awesome! Whats wrong with putting an origonal Pontiac motor into a Pontiac? Its a great swap if you ask me... maybe not from a performance standpoint (depending), but its definatley nestalgic.
Hey, its different.... I like different
If your are going to do the Pontiac thing, put a 455 in it. Also, put a built overdrive tranny in it. Putting a TH400 is just plain lazy anymore.
ive seen that before and i think its awesome lol
it is a nice idea, but what a crap motor. 77 blocks = trash can liners, #16 heads are small valve+big chamber = no compression, Ram Air IV cam = 1965 technology, and who in their right mind dumps a quadrajunk on a motor that is supposed to be built?
they could have showed some class and thrown a 200-4r behind it or something so it at least got some mileage while being slow. i don't care about the header leak, that is always a problem with pontiacs because of the exhuast ports design(center two ports on each side merge while still in the head) i also woudl bet that thing handles like a complete turd. poncho motors are heavy SOB's. weighing in a full 65lbs clear of a BBC fully assembled. the weight balance in that car is ruined, along with the font subframe most likely. |
