What's the difference between a regular sensor and a heated sensor? I read on TGO a heated sensor was recommended in the hooker 2210 long tube thread...I dunno if that's just personal preference in general or if it was directed at long tube headers.

u dont need a heated o2 sensor unless
#1 the unheated sensor ur using doesent get hot enough to take a proper reading
and a heated o2 sensor gets upto operating temperature faster then an unheated o2

That would be directed at the longtube headers. If the O2's can't stay hot enough the car will go in and out of closed/open loop. The Lt1 cars use a 4 wire sensor so I assume they are heated. I had no problems with them on my 96 SS. You might want to search some more to see if people really were having problems with longtubes and non heated sensors. You might need the heated O2's.

FWIW not all LT1 cars came with 4 wire.
