Gotta love 30+ years of grease and dirt!
I found out that the z-bar on the 70 SS had no grease fitting in it and was pretty much dried out. So I got a new zerk fitting and filled that sucker up. Then decided to hit some of the other grease fittings on the front end. Well, I should say hit some of the grease fittings I could find! There is so much grease and dirt on the front end of this car it probably adds 10 lbs in weight! But the good news is that the grease and dirt coated the parts nicely and there seems to be no real rust! It needs a serious steam cleaning though and I'm getting tired of constantly washing my hands. Simple Green FTW! Oh, and the clutch is definitely smoother now.

+14 I hate fake RS/SS/Z28 - besides full bumpers are better.
2 words Jeff: Latex gloves |
Gloves??? I for one cant wear gloves when working on the car, for some reason it just dont feel right.

I used them every day for years. You get used to them. Now I don,t want to go to the office with nasty dirty under my nails.
Besides, as my head tech used to say, 'there is no glory in grease'. |

I can't work with gloves either. Unless it's around 35-38 degrees in my garage like when I did the headers last winter. But even with gloves, this car has so much old grease/dirt buildup you would need a couple rolls of paper towels to keep up with it.
