wax on, wax off

what products were you planning on using? and how were you going to apply them?
|
Yeah, what products. Having a black car, you should use something like Zaino which will help hide fine scratches and swirl marks. If you're referring to using an orbital buffer, I can't help you there since I've never used one. And I would suggest using a claybar as step 1 no matter what products you plan on using.

well after 4 hours last night i finished...i used No.7 clearcoat compound, and super glaze wax. nothing special, but that clearcoat compound really covered up some of the scratches i had, especially by the gas door where the cap hangs, looks a ton better.

edit: jeff, zaino is overrated, i have a bottle of z2 pro that i picked up once out of my arsenal, havent used it again because i was unsatisfied with the results.. |
Zaino is not overrated. If you put just 1 coat of Zaino on then you won't see the difference. Zaino needs to be built up in layers to bring out the shine and give the best protection. Just look at my old 93 Indy Pace Car that was my daily driver. If your car is nice enough then use Zaino but if it's already too far gone it's not worth the money.

if you use multiple layers of any wax it will bring out the shine. ive detailed plenty of cars for dealerships and a private shop that ive worked for and i still use cheap crap from wal mart cuz ive yet to see a difference...

I use Meguiar's " cleaner / wax " ,with a small hand buffer, wet the buffer pad and do only little spots at a time, and have at it. JR1.
